Gender Equality with Unlockable Costume Pieces

I've noticed that quite a few costume pieces which can be unlocked for males are either completely unavailable or don't work in some categories for females (and vice versa). Can we see the unlockable stuff given a bit more gender equality at some point?

For example; Dr. Ka's Greaves cannot be used with Medium Skirts for females, despite there being no pieces in that category that would clip with the greaves. Now my female character has to fly around with a naked butt while her male twin laughs because he has butt-cape.

In all seriousness though, I'd really like to see a costume pass even if it's something done over time

This has been a problem practically since the game began, and still persists, even with some of the newest unlocks.

They did fix some a while back.

And when one patch broke many, like my favourite characters brain literally dissapeared, turned invisible, they fixed most of it...

But not all, the cool antennas on my avatar pic you'll notice are missing in my sig pic.

They totally need to fix this stuff. C'mon it's the 21st century already.

Imo, all it takes would be one dev with enough common sense looking carefully through the editor. And then enabling the combinations that are disabled for no good reason. If said dev is not also working on other projects and can fully focus on this task, I am sure it wouldn't take more than four days to fix the compatibility issues.

But, of course, I know that CO barely has enough devs to keep the game working and the planed updates in progress. Until there are more devs on the team, none of them could go out of his way to do fine tuning like this.

First off, all it as it is ought to be available for male bodies. I know some people are rather squeamish about the idea of more dress varieties being available for men. But that's just unacceptable. More costume pieces being available to both genders, since gender is the only thing that cannot be changed once you've made your character, and you have more customisability.
    More customisability means more freedom.
More freedom means that I might see less dragon-winged, horned guys wielding tiny guns the size of their eyes, and more spandex-clad heroes for a change.

never gonna happen though. Also, my dreams of making a decent male Rocky Horror homage just ain't gonna happen, it seems. Or have a male magical princess (I don't care! You don't have to have be a girl to be a magical princess! So says 5 year old me from the past!)

Or even if they included Boys' school uniforms ... for both genders.

No but seriously, One really important reason for this is, when I buy Cyberpunk pieces, get excited, and find out the female hero I thought I'd be able to use them on ... ... ... it's not there. Well, gosh, I've already spent the Q, what's up with that?

And I'm tired of having to give some of my characters "man hands" in order to make my blade or gun look actually intimidating (or even useful,) but that's another topic.

The industry needs to wake up. I was just reading about how the new Aliens Colonial Marines game wasn't going to feature female characters till a petition was raised which included several of the original aliens cast signed on. I mean seriously an Aliens game without female characters when girl gamers are nearly half the gamer population and growing? Mindless. At least they had the sense to change this when they got the petition.

I'd like to see all costume parts (well, maybe except bra and garter belts) available for both genders.
There is also a nice pair of glasses in Harajuku set, completely gender neutral, which could be used for making "professor type" male toon but is gender locked for males.

I agree there needs to be better gender equality. While I personally don't care if a man wears a dress, I understand some people would be (irrationally) bothered by that so it probably doesn't belong in a game like CO. But please, let's fix the obviously off-balance things like the Cyberpunk pieces, the Irradiants gear, the bouncy antennae.... etc.

Nothing wrong with more options. If I don't like them I don't use them. And hell, I'm sure with some form of combination people could make the gender-specific parts look like something else entirely. Not that hard.

Indeed. While I agree with the concern over dresses, I was going to use the short skirt (miniskirt) option on a male as the bottom of a medieval-style tunic...but alas. The gi skirt options didn't look as good to me as they didn't match with the shirt I wanted, so I scrapped the concept.

    Maybe one day...?

Not quite medieval (more Roman), but were you going for something like this:

This is three of the costumes for my character Titus Cornelius Invictus (or as I prefer to RP it, just the same outfit with various layers of armor removed)....

Yeah, I looked at that one. It's a little longer than what I had in mind: just a slightly oversized shirt with a belt around it. The piece is there, but just out of reach.

There once was a time when discrimination based on concern over dresses would be discrimination based on a concern over non-white skintones, that time would be what 40 years ago? And about half that time ago DC comics had a Transgender writer writing some of their comic books. And it's what 70 years since Madam Fatal the first guy-in-a-dress comicbook hero?

Well there are still racists who play videogames, should we just erase all those non-white skintones from champions because playing games with other races included makes some people uncomfortable? Would anyone argue that would be fair or acceptable?

CO is a superhero game. There have been Transgender superheroes from several from Doom Patrol one of whom is in the Teen Titans now iirc to V for Vendetta (though DC in the 80s was more shy than they got in the 90s so they had Alan Moore make V being transgender less obvious). And thats before we consider the gender-fluid shapechanging characters of both DC and Marvel.

Or the real life war heroes from Chevalier D'Eon Du Beamont to the crossdressing women who fought in the war of independance and the american civil war or the transgender people of the wild west to those serving in todays armed forces in much of the western world, why if it was ok for President Grover Cleveland to have a native american transgender guest at the Whitehouse over a hundred years ago and the future King of England serves in the same military unit as one now i fail to see the rationale behind discrimination against transgender people in this game today.
