Purchasing Travel Powers per Character instead of per Account

Just like the title, I'd like the option to be able to purchase a travel power from the store for a single character, at a reduced amount, rather than account wide.

But Why would you want to?

But Why would you want to?

For example, Tornado Flight: I only want to use it on a single character, but it seems expensive to purchase for the one character. If it were less expensive to buy it and it's use was limited to that single character, I would purchase it. My suggestion is that it be optional whether it is a single character purchase or an account wide purchase.

Actually, when you think about it, an optional single-character purchase would only be for that character, meaning that if they want it again on other characters in their account, they'd have to repurchase it, again and again and again until all their characters have the desired power.
In theory, someone who went that option could make CryPWI (Crippooey? Best portmanteau of the two I can think of) more money than someone buying the travel power as we do now.

Even though I think it's an incredibly silly thing and I'm not entirely sure why anyone would want to limit themselves other than for the instant gratification of being able to purchase it now for a lesser amount rather than later with a more permanent benefit...

    Sure, /sgined.

the problem is that if they make that possible and it does sell. corporate might make all TPs like that in the future. things have been monetized enough lately. and thats the way businesses think( especially in China, i lived there for a year)

    NO.

    /unsigned

I don't want to see a flood of posts "I bought the wrong TP for the wrong toon, help pls!".

We have enough problems with costume pieces not unlocking account wide as it is.

    No thank you.

What if you bought shadow wings for your void or magic FF char then later you came up with a concept which really fits one new char and the travel power...you'd have to repurchase..massive issues there IMO.

Or worse, you are gold, you sub, you buy the Shadow Wings for your void AT or Magic FF, for whatever reason you decide to cancel your sub, and voila You have lost your precious Shadow Wings. And no refunds, no transfers, you just wasted ZENs over there, gated in your gold character.

Unless, of course, you buy the AT, you have enough slots for that toon, and turn it into silver, and pray you don't get the nasty Gold-to-Silver bug :/

Yeah, that's a great idea

No thanks I have purchased a few travel powers for characters thinking I would use it for just one toon but I have used it on others I would hate to then have to go and buy it again and again. Also if this did prove popular all new TP would become like this with Cryptics current monetise everything policy I mean what's better than making you buy the same thing multiple times they don't even have to develope new things to make money.

    NOT SIGNED!

What's next, suggesting to make all costume pieces unlock only per character? Including the Z-Store packs even!?

    Oh, wait...

It looks like you didn't actually read the suggestion.

The suggestion is that there be the option of buying a TP for a single character but at a reduced rate.

Myself I can't see any value in such a thing, unless it was Very cheap, like 25-50z per TP. But even if I'd never do it, that doesn't mean that as an option it's a bad idea.

and you did not read ours, if the option were successful it would likely become the only option. such is greed

now if it was that cheap and had an option, then I see no harm in adding it,unless if as stated above that it becomes the ONLY option, then it would be incredibly bad as stated.

Based on what exactly? This has never been done before, so there's no reason to assume it would become the norm... Other then massive paranoia that is.

You can't use the pricing of other content to justify that point because this is not the same thing in the slightest. Pointing at the price of party balls or Become devices has no meaning in this given context.

a lot of things that have never been done before have happened lately in the name of money. you called me paranoid but that doesn't mean i'm wrong
and isn't pricing basically what this suggestion is about anyways

Such as? Lockboxes are not new or unique to PWE games In fact pretty much nothing they've done hasn't been done somewhere else in one form or another.

Yes, which you seem to be missing.

It's about getting something at a reduced price by putting a limit on it. It has nothing to do with changing the way the rest of the system works.

No reduced price, no sale, its that simple.
Most of the travels gold's get for free, no sale there.
Silvers buying travel powers? I don't see that much at all, ever.

We are up to 436 New Champions supergroups, thats 217,128 players since January.
There were only 5 zones of MC today at 3PM server time, three of those zones had less than 30 people combined

Cryptic better start doing something to keep people paying and playing.
