Recent Disconnect Waves

Champs and STO have experienced some recent disconnects. We are aware of this, and working to resolve it.

There were three verified waves last night: two around 8 PM, and one at 11 PM. There may have been others since then. This seems to be an ISP issue, and we're working to resolve it. Since it's the weekend, I probably won't be checking my email too often -- but if I do see an email saying that the engineers have fixed it, I'll post and let you all know.

As it stands, the disconnect seems to be one-off, in the sense that you can log back in right away. It's also worth noting that since it's an ISP issue, there shouldn't be anything that triggers it, so don't feel like you have to avoid certain bosses.

While you are working on disconnects. There have been some related issues where the CO launcher, while routed via cogent (ISP), could not connect to patchserver.crypticstudios.com and/or champions-online.com. There are a few examples in the tech support forum.

I think Cogent is the ISP he's referring to...

Cogent and Cryptic don't seem to play well together. There have been on again off again issues with Cogent for years...

That could be, but that is not what is said, and the problems probably have a different origin.

I had a few discons for sure but one seemed to almost break the game, lots of trouble after getting the launcher up and so on, I am not sure that one was isp solely, the rest were though. Nice to see cryptic are aware of it though.

People can complain all they want about the customer service in Champions, but I have never seen anyone as "on top of things" as Trailturtle. Kudos, keep it up! Thanks for the info!
Dasher@Tool-box, donning his armor to prance into battle and blitz the enemy! No joke!
Cupid@Tool-box, stunningly radiant stag ready to play matchmaker between villain and arrow!
Vixon@Tool-box, frighteningly eager to summon despair for his adversaries!
Jebin Zedalu@Tool-box, elementalist weaponmaster. ...One of these things is not like the others!

    Back tonight.

It's insanely often. Perhaps time to discuss the business decision of switching ISP? I'm likely just gonna log for the night.

My investment of time in the game is lost for the night. That's a danger to your business model. Here's hoping it's fixed soon.

Funny (not so funny) thing is...I got INSANE DC spikes whenever I logged into PTS to test my builds, but on LIVE, I only got little ones...

I'm really glad I came across this thread. I've been having disconnect issues for the past few days, to an extent that it's crashing my whole wireless internet connection for several minutes at a time. I was going to call my ISP tomorrow- I thought it was an issue with my router. I have Time Warner and it's usually top notch. I'm going to try connecting through the US proxy and see if that helps.
