New TP: Aquatic Webbing!

Hey people...Here with another TP idea! First was my Roller Blading/Rocket Skates idea. Then, I posted my Free Running/Parkour TP Ideas.

Now, I've got another one for you guys! So, I was watching Young Justice the other day.. Saw Aquaman and Aqualad and thought... "Hmm.. We've got webbing costume pieces for the hands, and all kinds of fins, but no reason to use them. Then, as usual, the ideas started flowing! Hehe. So, here are my ideas for a Super-Swimming or Aquatic Webbing Travel Power!

Aquatic Webbing would be at home in the water, of course. I see it reaching the same speeds as our Nighthawk Jets, before activating the boosters. Also, it would have a different swimming animation, closer to our olympic swimmers. It would give us a reason to truly use those aquatic pieces, and would help finish up our underwater hero concepts. I've seen sooo many Sharkmen/Women, Lemurians, Crocs, Atlantians.. And NONE of them swim any faster than our average hero. So, Aquatic Webbing TP and they take off!

On land, AW could be like a lower scale Super Speed. Or Acro. I mean, all that time under all that water pressure would strengthen their bodies, right? So some type of super-movement on land as well.

*Combat ADV* I was thinking one of the following three would work..
Scaley: Your toughened skin reduces incoming damage by a set amount.
Slippery: Something along the lines of.. "Your natural fluidity from years of swimming and living underwater increases your chance to dodge enemy attacks."
Natural Immunity: Exposure to underwater toxins has built your immunity against poisons. (Lowers damage taken from Infernal moves, Toxic Arrows, Gas Pellets, etc. Basically DoT Poisons.)

So, all in all, this could be a very interesting travel power.

Like always, I have a few more ideas for it.. but first, tell me what you guys think!!

*EDIT* Also, How about a special effect like we have with jetpacks? Give us a jet stream of bubbles and foam while super-swimming, but only if you have certain pieces on. Webbed hands, fins, etc.

Tbh, your other ideas were much better.

This one here is basically Superspeed with a defensive buff. Which means people will end up taking it just for that. They will see it as "the TP that makes you tougher" rather than "super swimming".
There is by far not enough water in this game to justify an aquatic travel power, one with a new animation even. Well, there is Lemuria, but about 90% of the player base doesn't like that zone and the underwater combat in it.

Sadly, everything Cryptic would invest in this travel power would be wasted. :frown:

Maybe the addition of this underwater TP would promote more RP Teaming and activity in Lemuria. All it takes is the right positive step imo. I love Lemuria, and wouldn't mind setting up an Atlantean SG, but I don't want sluggish swimming for someone/thing that's waterborn, lol. There's also water surrounding MC. There's Water surrounding MI and, in some place, water inland on MI. VB has tons of water. Plus, there's a HUGE snowmelt lake in Canada, near Eclipse Cave(SW corner of the map). It's called Kigatilik's Maw. There's water all over in this game, so there'd be more than enough places for Aquatic Webbing. I do my homework, Roku. ;P
And even if they do choose it for that reason, Roku.. How's that any different from the other TPs? People choose Superjump moves or Acro for the movement buff or the fall damage neutralization. Every TP has some type of bonus. Whether it be the above mentioned, flight's range creation..Tunneling's slight stealth and defense ADV. Swinging's Flippin dodge booster. Whatever. So AW being superspeed with a defense buff on land would actually fit in quite well. Especially since Atlanteans and such were quite hardy, according to mythology. So the buff would tie in with the concept.
I feel like it'd be a success. Especially with all the aquatic characters I've seen of late. I'd buy it the day it came out.

What about this, instead of "flying" it looks like you are swimming in the air? Just a thought.

So, a flight re-skin where you're flying with the swimming animation? XD sounds funny.

I for one am /signed for anything that can repopulate Lemuria since it's nowhere near as crashy as it used to be...
water based TPs are something that would rock.

Honestly, a TP that's only good in one location doesn't sound all that spectacular and still sounds like it would be out shined by Acrobatics.

Novelty travel powers are cool and all, but I think you would have a hard time selling it just for a single zone. Other novelty TPs are popular because they can be used anywhere at full power.

Shewolf...Do me a fave and read post #3, pls. :D
Ppl are always so quick to pass on ideas that could, actually, be extremely fun. There is water ALL OVER this game. Not just in Lemuria!!
And I would think the Land Movement I mentioned in my OP would be fine. I mean, it's almost a dual TP if you think about it. Like Ninja Vanish.

And thx, for the sign, Vors! At least someone's open-minded around here...
