Random generic missions, please!

As title. Given the rather linear level progression in the game, creating alts is tempting given how fun freeform and the character creator can be, but actually levelling them winds up wearing thin eventually and despite the ease of sharing missions in teams, it just feels kind of clunky to wander around the same area and hunt the same mobs for the same drops and not leave until everyone is finished. What if I want to fight gobs of elite mobs with four of my friends as opposed to plow hilariously through pathetic smatterings of open-world spawns?

If I'm allowed to suggest something CoH-similar, perhaps we could get an analogue to radio missions? That is to say, some kind of NPC or function added to the Crime Computer to where we could choose one of a handful of randomly-generated level-appropriate generic instanced missions - like the ones we can get from rescuing citizens randomly - and then do it. Then, after finishing the mission, we could do it again, because running around and doing fetch quests is only so fun after a while.

This would take some work to add, I'd imagine, but it would add greatly to the game in my opinion. The doldrums of having a lot of alts is one of the few things preventing me from feeling good about heartily recommending this game to people I know.

This would also (lazily) help shore up content gaps in higher levels! Shock! Awe!

I don't know if this has already been suggested and shot down, but perusing the first few pages of the suggestions forum didn't show anything.

    We have that!

At lower levels, when you defeat mobs that are menacing a civilan, he often offers you a "Help a Citizen" mission. Sometimes, when you don't have any missions of this kind, a random citizen will even run up to you and offer one instead of thanking you for defeating the Qularr or something.
Around level 30, these missions disappear, but return at level 40 in the form of UNITY Hotspots. Only this time, you have to get them from the UNITY terminal.

Mm, I know they already exist in that form, I guess my suggestion/request is just... increased regularity/guarantee of acquisition of that mission type. They don't always give one, and having something more "ready to go" would be nice.

As it stands, one has to hunt down random civvies being menaced to get this sort of thing. Which is cool and it's nice that streetsweeping kind of at least has something of a point because of it, but I'd still love it if a feature like this were available.

I get these when citizens run up to me and tell me that they spotted X happening in Y location. No thug hunting necessary, though I've done it in the past.

I've actually gone entire level gains just off of these random missions.

Yeah, the Help A Citizen missions aren't actually random... But they really do seem like something randomly generated, don't they?
I'm /signed for this. Even though it's kinda cheating at adding content in, randomly generated stuff is easily added to and can keep things fresh to some extent.

Help a citizen missions level with you. That is at level 11-12 you'll get level 12
missions, at level 27-29 you'll get level 28 missions. etc.

At level 16 theres a dead zone in mission giving so the devs have given you
Canada and the desert to rub out another level if you haven't stockpiled
your citizen/story missions like I do.

You have Alerts, Comics, Adventure Packs, Help a Citizen Missions, Story missions, open missions, crises.

If you want to 'randomize' things a bit, adjust your team size upward, increase the difficulty and
then run into one of these instances and enjoy it refreshed with lots more and tougher mobs.
Most missions do this. Also some missions will have scaling enemies so you might
find a level 40 goon among the level 26 demons if you happened to bring a forty toon with you.

There are 90 Help a citizen missions in MC. Some in Canada and a few in the desert.

    Have fun.

After the citizens stop bothering us with the 'Gadroons in the tree' and such. We should start getting Hero missions. Theres wide varity of heroes in Champions universe. Put them in peril or need of an help in different missions. To fight along the players.
But this would mean ofcourse, that we would need someone to make those missions....
The 'New Shiney Thing' after Alerts have died? ..Wait...wait...The 'NST' is Vehicles...ok how about after those have been left to gather dust in our Hideout garages...

Rescuing hikers in Canada near the Argent compound offers you help-a-citizen missions, too.

It's true that they just stop at a point, which can cause dynamics in a zone to be...less dynamic.

You can find citizens in distress in these two zones too. But they are so far in, it's hard to notice them while they still give missions!

In Canada, the first giving NPCs you can find are Steelhead recruits around Project Awakening. There is even a mission about rescuing them from VIPER, which in turn will get you a couple of Help a Citizen missions. There are also a few distressed civilians around ARGENT's base and on the east side of the river, where Teleios, the Bigfoots and the Ice Demons are.

In the Desert, there are distressed hikers in a wide area around Stronghold. But still, you are not likely to find any of them until after the Snake Gulch and Project Stein arcs.

Also, there are in fact higher Help A Citizen mission in Millenium City too. The giving NPCs are very thinly spread in City Center though, and I don't think I've ever found one in Downtown, despite some of the missions taking place there.

There are 13 in the desert and 14 in Canada.
The levels are spread out pretty wide.
You'll likely end up getting city missions or nothing at all.

Apparently there are level 30+ missions that have never been offered to any of my
two dozen level 40s on their way to the endgame.

Of course I don't go to Canada or the desert, hate those places.

Here's the wiki that lists the citizen missions

Giving Radio Missions for Champions might not be a bad idea. It would help out, but of course they might be problematic.

The difference is that having to wait for a citizen to come to you is boring, and rescuing hostages in zones give you level locked missions (as opposed to missions to your level).

Having randomly generated missions you could call from Socrates would be great if you ask me. :)

If done right it might not be too bad.

One argument against is that it takes people more out of the game world.

However, that ship sailed with alerts.

Well, if we ARE getting a sort of Foundry for CO, we could use that and publish our own custom missions for the public to play around in. Assuming mission rewards for custom missions are within reason of course.
