You Are Now Fighting At Level 1

All the way from fourty, for some reason... it gave me a good chuckle.

Please tell me this is a joke?

That is not a joke, it's the most outragous bug Cryptic has pulled so far! I DEMAND my level back!

I thought it was quite funny, dealing 4 damage to a Level 60 Mega-D with LA made me feel like I was tickling it.

I'm sure it will be sorted out, buddy. Don't worry about it.

Umm, wow....seems a fairly severe bug. I'm think i'm gonna hold off playing with the big robo's till they patch it again later today.

Here is to hoping you get your levels back.

The problem comes from the Team Up function for the open mission. It is bug in a way that it not only "sidekicks" you down to level 1, but does so permanently, even after you left the team-up!

Now I'm actually glad I spent the last few hours doing resistance with a lowbie team, even though it's so incredibly bugged up.

...It added negative XP. That's definitely a new one. Hey, we might not get much compelling new content, but at least the new bugs are interesting!

...I just recently realized something really disturbing. We're all eating Sodapop3's "humble pie."

I'm actually glad that I can't play the game right now. But wow, just wow this has to be the most hilariously awful bug Cryptic has made yet.

I can't wait for the new zone to be added. And the foundry- I bet those bugs download illegal **** on your hard drive.

But hey, guys- thanks for fixing those bugs in the tailor people were actually enjoying.

Drannic and Gentleman Crush are investigating what caused this bug, how to resolve it and fix those characters affected.

Please post your character's name, your @handle and what level your character was before the change. Also, if you can clearly state what you were doing when this happened (respawning at rez point, fighting in general, Mega-D defeated, etc).

Were you teamed? Did you team up with people before the fight or use the Open Mission 'Team Up' feature? Was everyone on the team affected?

That's what happens when they leave bugs alone. It seems like an upgraded version of the bug when you enter an Alert and it asks to SK you to level 0.

I was level 75 before this bug knocked me down to level 40. Please fix.

I was solo'ing all the Mega D's at once, you know, surrounded by hot babes in real life and drinking whiskey and flexing my Adonis-esque muscles.

    Also, Mega-D's sounds like boobs.

    BlitzHopper@RokuroCarisu, level 40

It happened when I clicked the Team Up button for the open mission.

I told Cryptic that with a bug report ticket already, before I logged out.

Guys, let's keep this thread informative for the developers to fix this quickly. Stay on topic and with accurate information or I will have to waggly my finger at you.

    Black Swan @beargoggles

Level 40, was in an open team using the "team up" feature. I had just respawned and was on my way back to fight the last 2 mega D's when my whole team got hit by the bug. Several teammates started dropping out not long after.

    Greetings Champions!

We believe we have found the cause of this issue, and are currently working on the fix. This fix will repair the issue, so no new Characters will be affected.

As for repairing the characters that have already been affected by this, we are currently discussing on the method to fix these characters. There is no ETA on this at the moment.

Thank you all for your patience!

Drannic, I hate to be a joke but you are using the word 'fix' when you should be saying 'removed the event'.

You don't 'fix' a car by driving it off a cliff into the ocean.

You also don't "fix" a car while driving down the freeway at seventy MPH. To continue your metaphor, they've pulled the event off the road, called for a tow truck, and are currently waiting for the mechanic to tell them how bad the bill will be.

    :P

Ill create a new metaphor. The issue was actually the Act of Driving of the Cliff. Our fix will be a railing/wall along the road, preventing further cars from driving off the cliff. Me turning the event off, was me actually taking all the cars away, so we do not continue finding cars in the ocean until the wall is built.

Here's the thing- metaphor's irrelevant. I'm DONE accepting excuses for our usual 'patch-break game-patch- sort of fix' routine.

I don't pay for a vehicle to stay in the shop, either. So that mechanic might want to reconsider the next modification on the car.

Also, I don't pay a mechanic that DOES NOT fix what is pointed out and declared broken.

I don't care that the event is gone. I will honestly sit here and say I don't care if they have to take the damned game down for 12 hours to fix bugs and tune things and TEST THEM- I'd like a fully functioning product.

Difference is, Mechanics can have their business license pulled.

I believe this is the sort of thing Smackwell was referring to earlier when he mentioned finger wagging.

You're upset, we get it. We don't need to hear about it.

Actually, I WILL say what I please.

This silliness has to stop. People pay money to play this game, and consistently patches are breaking it. No other business pulls this crap without SOMETHING to make up for it. This is not good business.

I don't care about programmers 'working hard' or 'doing their best'. I am paying money. I expect services to be rendered. I do not accept food from a diner that isn't made as promised because 'they're doing their best'. I don't pay rent in an apartment with a broken HVAC unit because 'they are understaffed'. I think if this persists it'd be idiotic to stick by this. There is no other game out there at this level with this many problems.

So, you can sit and kiss up. I don't let people screw with my money.

Edit: Kinda cool I actually got a Dev response.

I've found a way to summon them.... to the suggestions thread!

I sympathize with the people who got their character affected by this bug.
But apart from that, the whole patch drama we get once in a while amuses me.

Millennium City maps are down currently to apply a fix -- we're testing them to make sure everything's good, then they'll be unlocked.

So that's the first fix. Once that happens, we'll be able to resume the Destroid Invasion as before. If you were affected by this, please stay cool for a little bit. We're actively looking on a fix -- I hope it's procedural, so it'll be simple to apply to many users, instead of having to actively solicit tickets. I do not know the shape this repair will take, but the dev team is working feverishly to make it happen soon.

Yes, in fact, you do, assuming you're still paying for your car (the equivalent of a monthly sub). You're certainly not driving off to a nice evening at the club while your engine is disassembled and the mechanic is boring out the cylinders and cleaning the gunk off your crankshaft (and why haven't you changed your oil in the past 20k miles, anyway?).

Give them a chance to fix the issue. Or don't, it's your choice - but I for one can do without all the foot-stomping and yelling. I get enough of that from my kids.

If you were one of the (thankfully few) people who were affected by the de-leveling bug yesterday, you should have received an in-game ticket from CS about this, and you should be back to normal. Thank you all for your patience, and please do let me know if there are any remaining issues.
