it's a simple enough question. we've alll wanted the moon Zone, the in-game lore points to it, the devs have teased us about it
Which brings up the question of which factions we could find up there?
in game, the lore presents that we'd probably see the Gadroon (thus continuing their subplots of being recently conquered by Istatha v'han), Qularr (who have been at war with the Gadroon), VIPER (see the lore "shoot the moon"), and Mechanon (who almost certainly has its own lair, given its daily rivalry with Doc D for the position of #1 archvillain)
more tenuously, I'd expect to see Dark Seraph, leader of the Crowns of Krim (the rest having been directly or indirectly involved in the existing zones, VB excepted), some Malvan prescence (basicly using the alien guards/gladiators from Nemcon), which of course means Firewing, and on the longshot options, Foxbat's secret lunar clubhouse
The Moon Men, a sentient semisolid dairy lifeform evolved from the microbiotic life inside the moon's delicious molten cheese core. Wielding their cracker shields and wine cannons, these foes are... dangerously cheesy.

Rat manimals would have to be on the moon somewhere with space helms, foraging diligently.
Because the moon is made of cheese, right? ;P
Yes I want to see that. Oh god. Rat manimals in a round bubble helm doing /e beastforage on the ground. Some even doing /e cannibalism. I would die of cuteness.
As previously mentioned, yeah, the tabletop books have the Selenites, who are native to there...
Since we're in space anyway, there's no reason why some Galaxarians (a Cosmic-level race of near-deities who mostly are jerks who fail to understand things from the human level, from what I understand of them) can't be involved, perhaps the Examiner, randomly chucking people into his instanced arena to test their abilities...
Mechanon obviously, if only because his presence in the game is small, and since Destroyer's back, you can bet that his creation turned badder (that WAS Mechanon's backstory, right? I sometimes feel like my mind is forgetting these things and garbling them) would be making a big ploy to defeat its creator...
And while we're in space... Wait, is everything up there either alien or technological?
By the unfashionable end of the Galaxy, that is so wrong!
We need...
SPACE ASTROMAGES IN SPACCEEEE!
I cannot remember offhand, but there's bound to be magic-using friendly and not friendly factions who are spacefaring in the lore. Perhaps some really advanced technomancers from somewhere.
Oh, and maybe some Mandaarians, although I believe their visits are seldom... But it could be interesting to go through a visit and the escort missions such a thing would bring us, XD.
Me, in my moon base hideout. You kids stay off my lawn!
And stay off my moon plot as well. I have...ways of dealing with trespassers.
I have NUKES!! BWAHAHAHAHAH!
Wait...did I say that with my outside voice?!?!?
Annnd back on topic. I'd love to have a space zone even it not the moon. I remember talk about the level bump possibly being associated player joining or aligning with the Star*Guardians. (For those no tup to speed with the Champions Lore, the Star*Guardians organization is similar to the DC Universe Green Lanterns. )
Yes, all of that is from Champions Lore. And your hero fought at the Forum Malvanum. you put up a tremendous fight, but alas you lost the bout. And I lost my bet.

Eww no! HELL NO! That sounds like the Q guy from Star Trek. I hate that with a passion, and a vengeance!
I hated the stupid Q Continuum from Star Trek. I like to pretend those episodes don't exist frankly, that's how much I hate it. I hate it even more than sparking vampires from Twilight or Justin Beiber. It's the let's-throw-all-sort-of-artist-theme-integrity-out-the-window-for-a-BS-excuse-to-make-certain-plot-elements-line-up-conveniently-because-we-were-too-lazy-and-stupid-to-actually-think crap that bad writers do. Same could be said for the ruining of the mystic/Zen nature of the force by introducing "midichlorians" in Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace.
Take that crap, kick it into the poodle-pit and toss in a few drums of gasoline and a lit molotov cocktail. You should also get the cone of shame for mentioning something like that in public! Bad vorshoth! No! No!

Actually, we don't know Mechanon's true origin. Being built by Destroyer is one theory.
And I've magic aliens before, I was told there are some: the Elder Worms (which we've already met) and the Thane (which I think were created by the Elder Worms and look like Mind Flayers)
Actually, we don't know Mechanon's true origin. Being built by Destroyer is one theory.
The inhabitant of the Universe don't know his origin. But Mechanon's origin has been reveal in his source book "Book of the Machine".
Spoiler alert
He's a Salvation Unit from 6000 AD that was supposed to be sent back to 53th Century to prevent a bunch of natural disasters that made the 6000 AD all but uninhabitable. A choronal storm threw him back to the 1980's and screw up his programming from "Save all Life" to "Destroy All Life'.
Just above the entrance to Moreau's lab on Monster Island is a ledge with a small glowie on a rock wall (the glowie looks like a computer control device with a number pad). It is apparently connected to a radio tower nearby. Interacting with it tells you it is communicating with someone on the moon.
So, possibly Moreau has some rat's up there looking for cheese. Or it's VIPER. Or both.
Also, unless I'm misremembering one of the Qularr translation texts specifically mentions the Gadroon have a base on the moon. If I'm misremembering, then it probably specifically mentions the Qularr have a base on the moon. I just remember seeing it and thinking, "hey cool, I wonder if there's a follow up mission with a moon base map". I'm guessing by the existence of this thread the answer is "no". *sadness* Wait that's not right, the answer is... "Not yet" *glee*.

First one is Mechanon Radio Signal. So based on the category it is. Plus the pnp books confirm that he does have one on the moon and a few other places.
None of the stuff in here talks about the moon. It's mostly about the Qularr fighting with Istvatha V'han as well as the Gadroon and using the humans as weapons.
Please, PLEASE avoid the cheese- all kinds. Seriously, the amount of lame camp in this game is awful. Sometimes I feel like I'm transitioning from the Avengers movie to Superfriends, and it's...yeah.

Okay. so I take it you want them to ignore Revenger's blue moon amazon giantesses.

It's rumored that Mechanon has a facility on the dark side of the moon.
UNTIL has Moonbase Serenity, which is where you are supposed to go during Nem Con, but end up some place else.
Revenger is apparently still up there. He had enslaved the Selenites, but was supposdly defeated by the Fabulous Five.
You have the forum malvanum or moon coliseum, which is an offshoot of the arenas on Malva.

No space lizards... No cheese... But yes to Mechanon and Qualrr (Roin'esh too possibly?)
In fact Mechanon has been hinted at heavily in a lot of lore and hidden perks in the game.
i.e.: Mechanon Loremaster Perk, which consists of two other perks which each have multiple parts of lore.
Particularly this part:

Heh heh, I thought that was a reference to the old HG Wells story, The First Men on the Moon. Which is undoubtedly where the PnP material got it.
