I would love for the ability to have multiple limbs in the game.
Not just extra arms or legs, but lower body replacements such as horse or lion thus creating Centaurs and the such.
Or even spider body. And the easiest of them would of course be having four arms which exists in the game already, but not for players.
As much as we all would like to be 4 armed ponies.
It's been discussed multiple times before. No, it's not easy to make your character 4 armed even if it's in game.
It could happen with a Become device, but you would look like a grondling with grondling powers.

Also, centaurs and driders and whatnot are really more the domain of a fantasy game than a superhero game. I'd leave that stuff to 'Neverwinter' if I were you.
This subject isn't anything new and has been beaten to death, brought back to life and beaten again a million times over. Every time the answer is the same. Multiple Limbs, or animal lower bodies are never going to happen. Only way it would happen is if it was a become device.
It is just mind boggling stupid to have to create entirely new rigs for characters, and create new animations for every single power in the game, along with every type of movement you can do in this game. All for the sake of a couple of costume pieces. It's just not a reasonable task.
They've never said that four arms would never happen, that for the foreseeable future it isn't likely. They would have to animate for the new skeleton. The Grondlings, Grond and any other critter that actually uses 4 limbs in game does not use the player models and have unique animations to those particular critters.
The likelihood of this happening anytime soon, let alone even as a far future item, are remote at this time.
What if the other pair of arms didn't actually interact w/ any powers, and just kinda did their own thing? They could essentially behave like tails do currently... not perfect, but it's one way to go about it...

Cryptic generally has a rule that unless it looks good, they would try it, and in this case I would agree. If the arms did nothing barely even animated and such, it would look really tacky in these cases. On a level that would just defy all logic basically. And even with people saying they want them right now, you know that quite a few of these people would be upset if they barely did animate.
I don't think that centaurs, spiderlings, sphynx, or what have you really fit the theme here. And that's just what I personally think. I wouldn't mind seeing any of it in a fantasy game by any means, but, hey- this is a superhero game.
Plus, there are uh, certain types of people who would liberally do some gross things with this.
If the developers are going to work with skeletons and character animations and frames, it's a HUGE endeavor- one that would not be justified with something that only a few people would be interested in.
Now, I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of power where extra limbs popped out of your shoulder or side and did something cool, like skewer someone with a spike/blade or blast them with some sort of poison or energy blast.

Not to mention that said extra limbs will probably be excluded from the costume editor as well.
the sheer thought of having to edit all the jackets, tights, and chest wear to work with extra limbs is fairly frightening. But to then think about how gloves, bracers, arm accessories and the like would behave? Yikes.
It just seems a ton of work, and that is just to make it halfway with gimpy decorative arms.
And not to sound totally negative about it, but this player base is infamous for biting the hand that feeds them. They have done, numerous times, given the players what they asked for, in the way they asked for, and turned around and damned the devs for doing it. The latest example being the vehicles, a system people have begged for since launch, and even talked about just make them become devices. People have been lambasting the devs, people that wanted this system, for even doing it that way now, a way many said wouldn't care if it happened that way.
Another prime example was the hideouts. People claimed they wouldn't care if it had limited customization and no practical use. They were created and people damned the devs for the fact the hideouts offered no major customization and had very limited utility outside of being a social spot, what the players asked for.
In short, call me skeptical that the people saying just put them in and that will be fine will actually stay that way if/when it happens.
1- The vehicles weren't really what a lot of people expected. Most of us knew they wouldn't be vastly customizable, but we never expected them to be completely non-customizable. BUT, on the flipside, a lot of people missed it when Cryptic said 'these are not the final version of what vehicles will be'. However, that again begs the question: Then why bother releasing them at all? Hopefully, Cryptic makes good on their promise to 'not forget the people who have the current become devices'.
2- I wasn't around for the first hideouts. I just remember when the penthouses came out with a chorus of 'giggity'. More people are concerned, it seems, about the 'blocked' areas of specific hideouts.
Overall, this is how I see most of the hand-biting-
Players A, B, C, D, and E would like to see a villain faction introduced into the game, with PvP by flagging only and the missions 'flipped' to take place in Multifarian versions of the zones, with a few exceptions bringing them into the normal reality. Player F says this is not a good idea because CO is about heroes, Player G says more time should be made creating a new zone and raising the level cap for existing characters, and Player H is a troll who claims he quit playing the game in 2009 because it sucks. When the villain content is created, there are, expectedly, a number of problems with the system from the jump, not to mention that it falls quite short of expectations. Players A, B, C, D, and E voice legitimate concerns about the problems but are standing by the project to see it through. Players F, G, and H come out like confirmed Doomprophets and do butt-naked 'told-you-so' dances all over the forums.
Actually people said they wanted vehicles even if they were just become devices. The planned system for this fall is suppose to be more involved, so really, it isn't fair to make a judgment on a system being presented, as it is currently, exactly as people said they would take it.
