i been having this now in this game for weeks. It does not happen in STO,SW:ToR or any other high graphic game i have...ONLY in CO.
Basically as i move thru the game...it momentarily hitches...that is it stop video as it loads crud for a microsecond...its annoying as hell and im rather sick of it.
Does anyone know what might be a cause or have a cure perhaps?
If its network, you usually get rubber banding. Now your here then back again.
There is one thing that I had in Skyrim. Its called micro-stuttering (or something like that). It has something to do with video card being fast, game engine skiping frames, your FPS at around 60. You generaly fix this with 'FPS limiter'. You can do that in video driver (or driver addon), with external tool like DXtory and CO engine has that under 'options'.
Some had problems with video card switching frequency between desktop/idle mode and 3D mode because of some odd reason. This had some weird effects.
ive tried resettin the modem..taking it off the network and plugging directly into the modem itself and i still i get it. i turned on the /showfps 1 and it shows if i dont move...i got bout 30(35ms) moment imove....it nose dives down to sometimes 3(10) and i got no clue why.
Its an older...but not ancient nvidia card..its decent and more then what co needs to run...hell it was made after the game was. The one thing i did notice is t hat this all started( i was runnin smooth as glass before) right after they did that graphical update to westside.
Did they change how the graphical code in co works or something?
Have no idea if this helps, but I noticed this problem once when trying to troubleshoot an unrelated issue. It was caused by running the game in Vista compatibility mode, from Win7-64.
As soon as I disabled compatibility mode, the hitching stopped. Like I said, I don't know if this helps you, but at least it shows that the problem can be reproduced.
I think I'm having this same issue. It looks like visual stutters to me (layman terms). It's driving me crazy and makes the game unplayable. It begins to give me a headache and I have to stop playing.
Tried the fix mentioned and my compatibility was already disabled. Any other suggestions. It's been doing this since last week and it's become very annoying.
