Question on Str/Ego and damage!

Okay...so (generally) Str enhances the damage done by melee attacks, and Ego enhances the damage done by ranged attacks.

So my question is, is there a point where your Str and/or Ego is high enough, where no more of the stat is worth getting for additional damage?

If so, if I can get say my Str up to that point with just gear, is it worth keeping it as a Super Stat?

According to this miraculously wonderful thread, Strength and Ego don't seem to stop giving you bonus damage. The benefit is reduced for all points past 70, but it doesn't stop outright.

My own character has 521 Presence stacked up, and gets a healing bonus of 54%. According to the formula in that thread, it should be 52.974%. Roughly in line with each other, leaning towards the positive end of things, getting more than expected.

So yeah, you'd still see a benefit from stacking Strength or Ego.
Dasher@Tool-box, donning his armor to prance into battle and blitz the enemy! No joke!
Cupid@Tool-box, stunningly radiant stag ready to play matchmaker between villain and arrow!
Vixon@Tool-box, frighteningly eager to summon despair for his adversaries!
Jebin Zedalu@Tool-box, elementalist weaponmaster. ...One of these things is not like the others!

Str/Ego don't give much damage bonus in the first place, considering they are additive (not multiplicative) with all the other damage bonuses flying around, and also that (for freeforms) there are diminishing returns on damage bonuses. And then the bonus they do give is pretty front-loaded (70 str = +20%, 200 Str = +30%). If you don't already need the stat for something else (energy unlock, form scaling, it's your superstat, etc), it's almost definitely not worth pushing past 20% (= 70 points in the stat, at level 40), and depending on the build it might not be worth going out of your way for Str/Ego at all.

Pushing STR or EGO over 70 is really only worth it if you also use a form that benefits from them.
Without that .. even the 70 points are questionable.

Example : Melee Toon with DEX and Form of the Tempest
I had 75 STR and 250 DEX, and replaced a 55 STR mod with 55 DEX.
After that i lost 13% from STR, but got 18% more from FotT with 8 stacks focus.

Specialization tree for STR/EGO is damn good.

If its your secondary ... what others said. So-so.
