I've just done the church mission and she actually got defeated this time, so I thought great I can finish this.
She vanished during the brownstone mission instead.
also Level 37 and NO nemesis clues, mind you I wasn't able to finish Lemurian antiquities because it was bugged and had to drop it. This'll be my 4th to get to 40 with no tokens
You can, however, skip to Vibora Bay by hitting the Powerhouse during or after a Day at the Mall Alert.
That's a pretty crap workaround for this problem.
Can you explain that a bit more in-detail?
Do you have to take the alert? Does it just have to be up? Which powerhouse? Do you go to the jet afterwards? ETC.

I think that was a cheap way to get to VB immediately.

I did the Vibora Bay Apocalypse yesterday with my blade.
The quest where you fight Valerian Scarlet at brownstone, only on 2nd attempt i manage to "defeat" her, but the event that occurs after bugged out, didn't show any characters in the scene and the two heroes weren't show defeated but the quest was completed.

The quest simply stops for me when Valerian disappears. I can repeat the fight with her any number of times without having to drop and regain the mission.
It took several tries for me to finish those two missions... now I'm up to "No time like the Present" and she disappears at half health every time I fight her. I have tried more than ten times and she lays down her sigils then does something else and vanishes.

If you want my money, there is a fairly simple way to get it since I am fairly free with how I spend it. First, produce something I consider to be worth buying. Second, offer it up for sale. Don't lock it behind a gambling scam. If I want something, I am perfectly happy to pay for it. But I will not purchase a CHANCE to get it, When I pay money, I have a perfectly logical right to expect to get what I want.
Take Day at the Mall, like I said, then simply walk over to the VB Power House. Enter, and then voila!
You'll be in VB (not the alert anymore).
Since I've never tried this workaround, I'm curious- if you use it and then take the jet to Millenium City, can you then return to post-apocalypse VB without using the workaround again?
You can get past her by DPSing her down before she casts her chargds power that she casts right after her sigils. It took a couple tries but we were able to get through it as a team.
That goes for all 3 times you fight her in the crisis....

I wish they'd just fix this. My character has been stuck on the No Time Like the Present mission for 3 weeks now. I've been coming to the bugs forum every day since then to see if they've fixed her vanishing bug.
Sure I could get a team together and make multiple attempts to defeat her before she vanishes, but it just sounds like I'll encounter the same thing over again later on as I progress through the story arc.
It's really dampened my enthusiasm for the game and I've spend the time playing other games.
They have to be aware of this. There's at least a half a dozen threads about this.

Without making any promises, it looks like they've actually got a fix in the works for this Friday. Fingers crossed!

It is kinda ridiculous that both endgame story arcs are simply busted.

Valerian Scarlet still vanishes during missions contrary to what the 9/21/12 patch notes say.
