What I'm doing wrong? (help needed)

I've bought the Heroic Breastplate of Elusivenes. I've been trying to put 3 gems in the 3 slots but it's not working.
This is what I'm doing: it has 3 slots and I put in one of them a Growth Amulet (a core). Its other 2 slots are marked as armor slots. I put an armoring mod (constitution mod) and it's ok, I have the 2 gems in the breastplate but when I try to add the last one (strength-recovery... whatever armoring mod) it automatically replaces the other armoring mod. What I'm doing wrong? Is everything working properly?
