Someone else mentioned this in another thread, but I haven't seen any threads where it is specifically highlighted as a serious problem- and, believe me, it is.
At the end of Whiteout #4 you face the Roin'esh Commander. Normally (when the game wasn't so bugged that it actually had six legs and crawled all over your skin, giving you all sorts of creepy-crawly feelings) he splits into three weaker versions of himself temporarily when you have him down by about a third of his hit points. The original, meantime, vanishes. Once you've killed off the multi-Commanders, the original reforms, significantly reduced in health and spams a ton of specials until you finally kill him. This is doable- it can be difficult, depending on your setup, but even my squishiest DPS-toons have been able to block, self-heal, and melt their way through him.
As of I-dunno-how-recently (but I suspect Nighthawk), the Commander SPAWNS (not splits) three additional Commanders, all seemingly as powerful as the original, and the original does not disappear. The FOUR of them then gangbang your toon. I don't know if teleporting away might allow you a temporary respite, but there is certainly no other way to escape the massive toxic damage and spike damage that combines to vaporize you withing seconds of starting the fight. Using a pure DPS munitions toon on freaking NORMAL difficulty, I haven't been able to separate a single one out from the herd, nor have I been able to reduce any of their HP by even a third, let alone kill any of them.
If this is a 'fix', then it, quite frankly, is moronic. If, as I suspect, it's a bug, then someone needs to go in with a giant can of RAID and see about making this combat a little more manageable. It's a shame, too, because I used to really enjoy Whiteout- it was one of the few comic series that offered reasonable rewards for time invested, and now it just seems broken to the point of being impossible to finish. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
You only had to deal with four? Lucky you. I just finished it. At one point we had no fewer than *seven* onscreen at once. I'm guessing that there's some bug that triggers if you get one of the clones to a certain point, and *he* spawns, or something; it didn't start at seven, but it did build up relatively quickly.
Only won because we had a level 40 pet+regen turtle who could tank it (barely), stacked IDFs, and a *ton* of AoE damage from pets plus single-target DPS that could lock onto the bastich.
... the sad thing is that that wasn't the worst bug we ran into. But I'll go into that on another thread.
Heh. Might've run into worse if (a) I hadn't been playing solo and (b) I hadn't been playing a squishy DPS. I didn't last long enough to run into any more...

[edit: fixed a dumb typo]
