Power Tinting, Redux

A PWE employee suggested I post this on the forums, and a search showed there wasn't a current thread for it, so here goes:

Please make the $50 Freeform slots include Power Tinting. I know that it's a draw for subscription, but if somebody is paying you $50 for the ability to make a couple of different choices (and probably otherwise come close to an archetype anyway) on a single character, it's likely they're going to give you lots of other money; whereas other people who want to give you money aren't because there's no point if we can't tint the powers.

I know it's what's stopping me, and others in my gaming clan have said the same; we're ready to pay $50 for a single character if we can tint the powers, and likely to spend more later if we're playing that character.

I'm largely OK with this idea - 50 bucks is a large amount of money to pay for one character slot, so I have little issue with it being kind of a 'mini LTS' type of deal. Especially since the actual LTS is just a much, much better value overall imo.

Check out my Champions Online webcomic in progress!

    Annoying people since 2009!

/signed at that price I think including power tints wouldn't offend any one.

I'm a lifetimer, I went gold for power tinting so I can shoot purple ice and think is a crystal.

I agree with this idea, if you are going to pay 50 u$s for the slot, at least add the colors into it :B

But not the other slots ??.

Oh, absolutely not the other slots; I'm just asking for the $50 slot to include it. Thanks for the clarification question.

Agreed. I also think that one slot should have the G cap removed.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

I think that power colorization would be an excellent, "valued customer," reward.

Give it out to anyone who has spent $50 or more on the game.

'Caine, miss you bud. Fly high.

Signed because I think the cost of a freeform slot is currently too high to be really appealing. Adding in more schwag can only help.

    However.

I think the real problem is simply that freeform slots cost too much. I know they want people to subscribe but... if they cost $10 a pop they'd sell them like hotcakes, people would become addicted to playing freeform and would either buy more or sub.

At the current pricing people suffer sticker shock and then just resign themselves to playing ATs.

I think that's part of it, tom, but not all of it.

As I write this, the slot is on sale for $25, and I've got substantially more than that uncommitted zen sitting in my PWE wallet. I'm still not buying it, solely because of power tinting. It's possible I'm strange, and obviously like any forum poster I'm going to assume I'm more typical that I likely am, but I don't think I'm the only one who will make the same decision.

Power tinting should absolutely be available on Freeform slots. People are dropping $50 for total customization- and recoloring powers should be part of that. Plus it's a tiny little non-gameplay-impacting thing that would push more people to buy them.

There's no way they'd see a large enough increase in sales to make up for losing $40 per FF slot and Gold Subscriptions. Hell, at that price there's no reason anyone would ever bother buying another AT, because FF slots would be cheaper.

Give the FF slot color tinting on top of that massive of a reduction, and you've truly destroyed the only real reason to bother to subscribe to this game.

I think if the slot costing what it does now..included the benefits of power tinting and this was clearly visible, being the price they are may be a slight off putting but the Q store would be trading so much that it would probably run out of Q and Zen or something. xd

They need to add the power tinting option to really allow people to experience the gold side of CO at least through one character.

By keeping them crippled by applying the silver G limit and no tinting on powers, it's just basically letting them have access to CO but without any customization which this game I think prides itself on. By not adding this fuction to FF slots...it's not really helping to sell them is it?

Well, it's "free for all", not "all for free"...

yeah, the G limit does get annoying, and 50 dollars for a FF slot, thats worth both FF and color tinting,if at all just sell a token that gives it to the account,if that is not implemented, then make the FF slot color tintable, the ability of Freeform alone is not worth 50 dollars, not for one character slot...
