I just wanted to know how low cd's on active defences can be if INT is about 200, both 17% active defence cd reduction masteries are taken and both utility gear are for cost discount/cd reduction?

And with that low cd on active defences will it be a good diea to have 3 of them on a tank char?

I've gotten my cd's ( MD/resurgence) down to 39 seconds. That's with champ primaries and merc secondaries. 200 INT as well, I don't think you can get any lower. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Because of the global active defense cooldown, three different active defenses is a waste and two is borderline wasteful if you're really pushing cooldown reduction.

Many of my characters do have two ADs and one-two AOs just because I prefer not having a lot of redundant attacks.

Oh, yes, ofcourse, for some reason i just thought that global cd reduces aswell. Just rechecked it on one of my chars, nuh, it doesn't... to bad. Well, then 2 max i guess.

    Thank you both for replies.

With the mandatory global cool down is it worth it having 2 ADs? I have mine down to 39 seconds. Would it be best for me to just stick with one? Keep in mind I do pve as a tank and I duel on the side. If its true that I would have better performance sticking with 1 it would make room for something else useful.

The linked cooldown on Active Defenses is reduced by recharge speed. The character I just checked has a 47s AD cooldown, and a 16s linked cooldown. Not sure if it's affected by Active Defense recharge boosts, though.

And yeah, I don't know if there's a hard limit on recharge speed, but in practice it seems difficult to get ADs below ~40s.

Yes you are thankfully. My cd for my offense and defense is 36 seconds. 366 int with purples all around :P and no specs helping it

EDIT: didnt read the 200 limit, my bad.

I've gotten as low as 36, but the cost to hit lower than 38/39 tends to be excessive (diminishing returns) on the INT investment.

Pvper's typically utilize protector mastery, masterful dodge, and resurgence, and its not uncommon to get someone down pretty low only for them to be right back to full moments later.

As this is probably pertaining to pve, Masterful dodge is the best at damage mitigation as scaling instances like bursts don't render it ineffective and/or pop it like unbreakable. Unbreakable is still a solid performer for general pve assuming your enemy or enemies are rarely hitting with high damage attacks.

If you're at or around 40s on your cd, you should be fine for most situations. Most of the time that will be more than enough.
