Because I've learned not to learn new tech during a live event, I'm learning the nuts and bolts and streaming right now, on
http://www.twitch.tv/trailturtlepwe/videos#.
If you want to join me in-game, either send a zone chat, or post where you're at. I don't fully understand the zone fragmenting, so it might get interesting. I'm probably going to be running around doing random quests, Iris Irregular's still just level 12 so I won't be doing the penthouse mission or Alerts.

I am refraining from any comment on your player skill.. and what icons we see on your desktop.
*wink*
Thank you again for the communication with the players. Its very much appreciated.
I look forward to tomorrow.
Also, if anyone has any survivability suggestions for a TK, level 12... let me know. Hey, I never claimed to be good at this.
We can hear your mic as well FYI. So as you type, talk, etc that's audible to us.
You're doing great for a solo build. Maybe shore up those defenses a wee bit. I'd offer "direct solutions" for your build but you'll have MUCH more fun with trial and error.. and hopefully you'll join us in game much more often once you become a vet.
-Grab some CON. Simple and straightforward.
-Pick a Superstat with a Spec Tree that allows you to get some early defense. Even a little can go a pretty long way early, and if you don't want the tree later you can respec out of it once your build starts pulling together on its own.
-Grab a healing solution, if the framework(s) you're pulling your build from allow for it. Being TK, even if you don't keep it later, Siphoning Strikes on TK weaponry could be a great help.
-Don't forget to abuse the freebie consumable heals the game dumps on you while you level. Good for those OH SHI- moments.

Get a team, preferably with a good tank and a healer- that's the only real tip I have for low-level TK. Or a couple become devices- it's amazing just how survivable my TK toon became when I could change her into a ghost or a toy soldier as needed...
Seriously, though, TK isn't a bad powerset, but the trick is building in survivability early- you might want to take a couple powers out of set (Psionic Healing can be useful, but difficult to use unless you have someone to take the threat off you)- at early levels, look for a good attack (just one with little or no cooldown), your passive, a block, a self-heal, and an active defence. Crowd Control is pretty much worthless unless you have a reliable team, so I would probably avoid it at low levels.
This is totally NOT a tested build- more like some spur-of-the-moment ideas for what a decent power progression might look like. If you try it and you like it, let me know...

Specializations:
I suppose I ought to mention that this "build" also leaves you with 5 advantages free in addition to your travel powers and specializations. I always recommend a flight power as a TP, but that's largely because the ability to run away is so useful for a DPS toon. You could, of course, use whatever TP seems right to you...
EDIT: xaogarrent makes a number of good points- I was working sort of on the run-n-gun theory and the don't let anything live long enough to seriously hurt you theory, but I'm not entirely sure how well that works with TK...
...And yeah, one good suggestion is to find someone halfway dependable to facetank everything for you. :P
I'd be tempted to volunteer, but my lowest level is 16 and already in the desert.
EDIT: Also, I like how Zoe Loft's voiceover blended with the music he's playing and made it sound more spooky.

I'm a little reluctant to take Siphon -- that's the power that turns crit damage into healing, right? It would solve my problems, but it would also reduce my damage output. Then again, that may be exactly what I need...
Also it completely overpowers the game's sound.
Sound engineer in me i suppose
Later on, there's still tradeoffs, but they're more in the overall scope of your build, as if you're playing Freeform once you reach a certain point you can have all your bases covered at least moderately well and still have room for several flavor powers in almost any build. Not to mention there's diminishing returns in various places, so stacking damage to over 9000 generally isn't as good as getting it fairly high and then dumping some of your stats into something else, I. E. defense.
Either way, I would suggest dropping your block enhancer and picking up a passive... From what I remember off hand, both the Ego passives gives some all damage resistance, and it's greater than what the Ego Block advantage gives. The end result should be more damage and more durability.

Well the music itself is much more ambient now, this makes the variance of levels much different than before.. but the mix has much less distortion. I can also hear Champions much more clearly now as well.
