Unable to establish connection to Patch Server

Happen to me yesterday around 7pm, played fine that day no issues. If I click on the Champions Icon it says: Trying to update the launcher. Please be patient. Tries connecting a couple of times and then I get a error box that says: Connection problem-Unable to establish connection to Patch Server. Please check your internet connection. If problem persist, please contact techinal support. Internet conntect is excellent and I opened a ticket for issue

    similar situation here. not happy at all. and see no solution for what seems to be a common problemfor a good number of people. new user, not even one day.
