Night Avenger Costume/ Cape glide discussion

Just wanted a place to discuss the night avenger costume set and glide power and what others think/ would like to see. Also wondered if a dev could share a little more on this?. I know night avenger costume set will most likely follow a batman nighthawk style look which if to go by the hex power armor will look awesome but one thing that has been lacking in CO.

MOAR Capes. Capes in Champions online are good but will we see a bigger majestic cape, not talking Batman begins sized cape but something that will have the cape over the shoulders when standing still.

Also intrested to see how cape glide will work. The only other glide travel power i've seen is in DCUO which is nice but the animation for it has urked me forever. Will cape glide have certain capes to work sorta on the same line as jetpacks.

Any more info will be welcome and also, What do others hope and wish to see in the new costume set and travel power?!

I'd like them to get all mantles working with all capes if possible.

I think "gliding" will work like how phase in works on teleport, but lets you move go as fast as acrobatics and doesn't ever turn off.

...

However, I'm getting a bad feeling that glide is going to just be a reskin of Ninja Vanish in terms of its execution.

The only current travel power Cape Glide would really borrow mechanics from is Ice Slide.

So let's all hope they came up with something new.

I think it'll be more like swinging. Jump boost, hit space while in the air, and you get a speed boost while slowly falling.

with the cape glide TP, i would like to see capes that drape over the shoulders please in the costume pack, much like we see Nighthawk in in the art previously displayed and on the loading screens

With the TP maybe we can get long capes/cloaks,we have been NEEDING cloaks for a long,long time.

They would probably intergrate "cloaks", and most likely cloaks would be part of the "intergrated shoulders" category.

I know they always worry about clipping, so my dream of a crazy, flowing Spawn type cape will never happen, but I would like to see the "over the shoulders" at rest type cape discussed in here.

Judging by the fact its a nighthawk cape,and he has a cloakish type cape,then we're hopefully doing to get cloaks,FINALLY!!!!!!!!

Well theres a custom art of nighthawk on news of the world,and if you look closely in the loading screen(regular one,not Hi pan one) he was in it too,off to the left on the edge of the screen on that rooftop.Hes been there ever since

I'll want this to work with as many of the cape designs as possible, and the arm accessory batwing and steelhawk pieces (as i'll often use those on alternative costumes for caped heroes).

I think I read somewhere though that instead of being handsome, his face is horribly scarred or something. He ain't exactly a pretty boy, I know that, and he's got the attitude to go with it.

Personally, I don't like the Night Avenger.

1) Because it's a blatant clone of Nighthawk himself. For the whole anti-clone policy, that's a very hypocritical move. And Nighthawk is not that awesome that all the vigilante players would want to BE like Nighthawk.
Basically, you're creating a whole flock of Robins. :rolleyes:

No, Batman doesn't use claws.

Which brings us to...

2) Way to make a Fighting Claws archetype. Without doing anything for Fighting Claws as a power set!

3) It's too easy to screw the build up. On an archetype! Choosing Form of the Tiger without focusing on melee charge powers will gimp the character! :eek:

Haven't tested the Gliding yet.

They did this when the whole avengers hype too,release a PA AT right when the movie with one went mainstream.Now the're doing it with a certain caped crusader too,kind of weird with the whole clone policy.Im just glad its claws and not fists,so no batmen clones.

Yea the fact that we will have a new type of travel power and not a re-skin is neat. But the first thing i thought of when i saw the powers that coming with night avenger is more accurate batman's gliding around.

Then create your own concept. For instance, my Invincible concept is an android designed for commercial security, that went rampant during the Qularr invasion and had to have its patrol areas and designated targets reprogrammed by SOCRATES. My Master concept is an extremely eccentric multibillionaire. My Inferno concept is a reformed villain, a former VIPER agent who took exception to being forcibly outfitted with a flame-power suit that he can't take off. And so forth.

I don't see what you're driving at.
Those are technically almost all the archetype concepts that one sees from the kind of hero that the Night Avenger AT emulates.
Which just so happens to be derived from heroes like Batman, Moon Knight, the Midnighter, and countless others.
If you are surprised or put off by this, you need to read more comics.

Todays Patch...No,as far as I know the release notes said NA AT release,POSSIBLY nighthawk mission,I still don't know if that was just a lore/RP bit,or it was the mission,but no cape glide sadly.
