Gotta say well done to Cryptic on this one.

I really love the power *-*

I dont understand why people say it is officially the worst travel power ever as it uses rank 1 Athletics...I mean sure possibly actual ninja reflexes would be nice (Rank 2 Athletics) but I have ranked it to rank 3 and I honestly expected it to be faster. But aside from that minor complaint, I love the invisibility and acrobatics meld. Simply fantastic IMO.

So apart from it being rank 1 athletics what does everyone else think about this new travel power?

    It's slower than r1 athletics. That's why.

I like the concept and I think will fit perfectly for at least 2 chars... sadly I don't have the Z to buy at the moment... I should get my stipend in 3 days though.

Sounds like a neat idea to be honest, I don't mind the slow speed.

I think it is very cool. The over-active SFX of going in and out of Ninja makes it a bit hard to use for long-range trips. Other than that, really cool effects. Being so slow is going to make traversing the world kind of painful, though.

It looks amazing, and I am certainly going to use it for several of my characters. It's an instant buy once one of the characters I am going to use it on get to a level where they get a new Travel Power.

I picked this TP up. I can see myself using it as the second TP on many characters. As the first, or only TP... it's too slow. I wish they'd get rid of the self-healing debuff it places on you, given all its other limitations.

I have to agree with that it's a good secondary travel power. I would never use it as a primary though, the maps are just far to big and it's far to slow.

EDIT: Tried it out more... Don't waist your time unless you want it for RP stuff

I dislike this fact as well. If they made it at least rank 1 acrobatics at rank 3 Ninja Vanish Run speed, and allowed object interaction whilst stealthed I would not mind.

I have been told that it also works as a aggro wiper too. Is it true?

No it isn't. I've ran a couple tests to make sure. Either the mob kept attacking me in some or in others they would switch to another target then as soon as I left the phase mode they would whip right back to me.

No I have had a different experience to this...

They run to you and then if you pop it and move they stay in the spot you were for about 5 secs, if you turn visible whilst one of them is still targetting you then they are gonna come after you.

Then that is like using smoke grenade... still not an aggro wipe though which is what the other person was asking about, that's just the game AI's reaction to have it's perception massively de-buffed. (I have an archery character built around this very concept)

Edit: If you look at Evasive Maneuvers/Slight of mind and Palliate/Absolve, these are the only two powers that actually give -1000 aggression (at least by reading their descriptions), moving you down the aggro tables of the the targets. Ego Placate, Smoke bomb, Ninja Vanish, Gas Arrow, Arctic beast at R3, and similar powers put a -perception but no Aggro reducing ability. The Game's AI is programmed to go to those locations, look for you, if not there then find another target that it can see, if no target is found then reset unless taking damage then go tword the source of damage... It's why I suggested (I think in another thread) that Ninja Vanish get a 2 point advantage be added to it that gives the -1000 aggro as well. It can be balanced by also adding a cool down to the power if used in combat like teleport is.

Note: Sneak also gives -25 agression, but it can not be used in combat so I do not consider it an aggro wipe ability

Just wanted to add a little more. Ninja Vanish's ADVANCED description shows it having the +1000 aggro reduction. If that's the case then it's not functioning. I have a hard time trusting some of the written descriptions in the game though. NV's for example they just copy and pasted the standard description from Teleport and called it a day which is not what this power does. For example "While phased you are able to move at high speeds in any direction" when this is clearly not the case.

They do that a lot with descriptions in this game. You can't trust the descriptions to be accurately, sadly. You have to test it.

Yeah, Earlier I did a nemsis Alert and pulled agro. To test it I went to NV first and the Nemsis changed target. Soon as I dropped it to resume attacking it switched right back to me to witch I did EM and the boss switched again and never came back to me. Only other thing I can think of is that I have to sit with NV on for 5-10 seconds.

    Wait....what?!

They gave the new "Ninja Vanish" a normal running animation instead of the cleche ninja running animation that so many, not I, had groaned and lamented about since beta?

Is that just dumbfounding irony or a cruel joke on all the ninja players?

When the new sneak power goes live, won't ninja vanish be even worse by comparison?

I believe that Sneak and Night-warrior will outshine the ninja Vanish TP,which is sad for a power to be better than a TP,that may be why it has ninja in the name,to make people like it,buy it,then say "this TP is bad" and realize they have just wasted 525 Zen.

Yeah That travel power as I have seen TWICE or more in a Nemesis confrontation instance does not work on the guards. They can still kill you and follow you in "stealthed ninja mode"
They fire and kill you like you werent using the travel power. Also another hinderance to this TP is it's in combat speed. As we all know entering combat with a TP on will cause some manner of cooldown or/and speed reduction. Ninja Vanish makes you SLOWER than normal run...that is the level of fail it can fall to.

I havent been told if sneak will better than Ninja Vanish. I thought originally it would make a fantastic combination for ultimate stealth...But then again you must take into consideration the stealth perception abilities of some NPC's...and even more so of the players in PvP.

My best guess is that it will outshine this TP really badly, also if Night AT had access to tanking specs it could block in stealth and run and would probably out run a rank 3 Ninja Stealth person. Once this is proved (if this is the case) People will ask for a speed boost, as currently it doesnt even hold up to rank 1 athletics...>.>
