Mayoral Election!

It's election fever time, a great opportunity for a little harmless satire and a whole lot of fun!

Biselle has faced assasination attempts and attacks from numerous villains, but his biggest battle is coming... the democratic process!

Rumours abound!
Some say he is all that's holding Millenium City together!
Some say that Biselle is the secret identity of a costume-clad vigilante!
Others say he is secretly a supervillain attacking his opponents and shoring up his bussiness interests!
Others suggest that Viper has something over him related to his daughters dissapearance and is blackmailing him!
Others claim he is corrupt through-and-through!
Some believe he is just inept and negligent!
Some say the real Biselle was kidnapped or murdered long ago and the current one is an alien in disguise!

But what of his new opponents?
Are they all they appear to be? Are any secretly in league with Dark Forces?
What will they be willing to do to win? Will one suceed in their push to have costumed heroes banned from Millenium City?

And can Democracy survive in a world of such dark secrets, manipulatory forces and corruption?

A new event to come up whenever there's big elections going on in any major country (so we should get it at least once a year).

Heros investigate the rumours of Biselle and the other candidates, are any of them true?

Heroes may choose to support one of the candidates with missions like PR stunts showing off their strength to the crowd to win over voters to their chosen candidate.

Some political rallies will be spurred by villainy and heated passions into violence requiring the heroes from both sides to step in and stop the riots.

All the big villain groups and some of the less utilised ones use this as a great opportunity to strike or to try and sway the vote!

Finally on election day have a big assasination attempt.

Optional: if enough people like the idea allow the players actions to determine who is elected the mayor possibly changing the Mayor! Of course Biselle will stand again for the next election if he does lose.

So we get to vote for a new mayor of MC after all the assassination attempts on him, really cant see how Biselle takes being targetted by Viper every single day,or gives a speech every other day.

Would a new mayor result in a fixed "A Bullet Bound For *insert name here*" open mission?

perhaps a new open mission in it's place, get there... podium empty... awkward silence... then it dawns on you... the mayor has been abducted.

This could actually make a good comic series (assuming they do more of them).

    I can imagine it now.

Issue 1: The election is coming up, and the mayor and his competitor are recruiting different heroes to support them. You are approached by representatives of both, asking for your support. Eventually, you side with the mayor, and go about helping his campaign, when you are interrupted by a bank robbery. After foiling said robbery, you discover that known supporters of the mayor are the robbers. What's going on?

Issue 2: The mayor is held under suspicion of being behind the bank robbery, and it is up to you to clear his name. You return to the scene of the crime, looking for clues, when a mysterious stranger approaches you, citing conspiracy after conspiracy, saying that many things are intertwined. The Qularr invasion, PSI's recruitment, Citizen Harmon's rise to power, even the destruction of the Qliphothic realm, all interrelated and related to the mayoral election. Then a doppleganger of the stranger attacks and kills the original.

Issue 3: Wondering just what is going on, you go to see the Champions, and discuss what you have found. You are given an autopsy report that the stranger was an extra-dimensional human, and that the doppleganger was not a doppleganger, but instead an alternate dimensional equivalent of the extra-dimensional human he killed. It also turns out that they are both alternate dimensional equivalents of the mayor, and in a shocking twist, the mayors competitor is found dead, and that he himself is yet another alternate dimensional equivalent of the mayor. Before you have a chance to try to think about this, Millenium City is attacked by everyone. Literally everyone. VIPER, UNTIL, DEMON, ARGENT, PSI, Gadroon, Roin'esh, Qliphothic Horrors, Telioclones, Teliosaurs, and even, the Champions? After fighting your way through everyone, you find yourself and the Champions facing themselves, and yourself.

Issue 4: After detaining your alternate self and their fellow champions, you question them, asking where they are from, why are they here, etc. They taunt you refuse to tell you much, except for alternate Witchcraft, who starts telling the Champions everything due to Witchraft's magic. This causes a magical overload, summoning several Witchcrafts and scattering them across Millenium City. With the help of the rest of the champions, you manage to bring them all back, yet due to the unstable nature of the magic that summoned them all, they combine into a giant mystical abomination, and despite your best efforts, you cannot stop it. It detonates, creating a rift in space, allowing the mastermind to come forth.
    Istvatha V'han.

Issue 5: Everything is explained. Everything that has ever happened since the dawn of time has been in preparation for the coming of Istvatha V'han. The Champions were made to police the world when V'han came to rule it. The Kings of Edom were imprisoned because they were the only things that could challenge the might of V'han's kingdom. The mayor of Millenium City was elected, because he is an alternate dimensional equivalent of V'han, and many of the things he has done are identical to what V'han has done, therefore letting the people of Millenium City be used to what life would be like under V'han's rule. The mayor's supporters robbed the bank because in order for the sequence of events necessary to summon forth V'han to take place, you had to be there in order to stop them and start looking into a conspiracy involving the mayor. As you and the Champions try to stop V'han, the world starts to fall apart, literally. The ghost of the stranger you first met appears before you, stating that despite all the preparation that was undergone to prepare this world for V'han, it was never meant to fall under V'han's rule, and that V'han appearing in this world has freed the Kings of Edom, and that they are hungry. One by one, the champions are devoured by the Kings, and just before you are devoured, you see a strange light emanating from within the kings. Before you have time to wonder what it is, the light fills your vision. And then you find yourself back in Millenium city, being asked by the representatives of the two mayoral candidates for your support.

Epilogue: You meet the Champions and tell them everything you remember happening. They say they remember it as well. Apparently, the light reset time, and made it so that you can prevent V'han from coming into this world. However, it left the memories of the heroes involved in the event while erasing everyone else's memories. You and the Champions are left to ponder about V'han, how the entire world is one big conspiracy, and most importantly, what just was the nature and source of the light.

Sorry for all the spoilers lol

Alternatively, how about a different comic mission that stars Breanna Biselle. The basic premise is that as common as super heroes are in Millenium City, they are becoming even more common, as are super villains. Apparently, ordinary citizens are gaining super powers, the first of which was Breanna Biselle. It is your job to not only help her learn how to use her powers, but also discover why citizens are gaining said powers (in retrospect, this is probably a better idea than my original one).

I think it could work best as a Mastermind nemesis mission really... A reference to the old Batman episode where the Penguin tries to become Mayor?
Admittedly the hero isn't trying to become mayor himself in opposition... But at least he's backing one!
