30 days and counting...

Subscribed For: 1070 days
  1. 365 x 3 = 1095 (3 years of CO) falls on "Thursday, August 30th".
  2. I'll be a 1100 day vet. on "Tuesday, September 4th".
  3. Labor Day falls on "Monday, September 3rd".

Do you think we'll get our 3 year Anniversary on the weekend OF Labor day? ("Friday, August 31st".)
(Or the following weekend of "Friday, September 7th".)

Oh yeah, if it's not too late to put in my vote for the 1100 day vet. rewards... :rolleyes:

    Considering Champs official launch date is the 1st of September, I would wager the 31st if not earlier will kick off the event ;) My official 3 year is in 22 days myself, though I've been playing Champs for nearly 4 now >_>

    I have a bunch of screen shots of the first anniversary party.. I've got the cake not there, in mid spawn, and complete back to back. Tumerboy turned into grond and was killing people..


    It was a magical time. Many of us weren't sure the game would have made it one year.. much less three... although I have to admit I don't feel like it has the soul that it had in those early days.

    I haven't been playing for 4 years, as I got into the closed beta around April or May. Man I loved those days as well. I had like 500 characters :p

    Dude, there were naysayers when the game launched in September saying it wouldn't last till Christmas.

    To all those people who claimed CO wouldn't survive until it's first year let alone three I have one thing to say.

    Who's laughing now? WOOHOO! NEARLY THREE YEARS!

    Disclaimer: I hope everyone's laughing with glee at the fact CO has survived so long and harbor no real ill will to those who's opinions on the life of this game differed from my own.

    I wonder if they'll do anything for this year's celebration?

    Something new I mean. First year it was the massive cake (sadly without Grond in it), second year it was that ginormous stage with Sapphire singing and DJ Madbot spinning discs.

    Hopefully they'll have something new up their sleeves with this year's celebration!

    *Well, at least not initially. I already have two MMOs I play (this one and TSW), and a third would simple take too much time. I'm not ready to drop either CO or TSW for The Other Game. It has gnomes. Well, Asura, but they're gnomes. GNOMES I TELL YOU!

    Last year people opened presents they had stockpiled early and got the madbot pieces before the event went live as a result. Does anyone remember how far before this was as I've still got a bunch of last years gifts and wanted to do the same.

    List of games that were supposed to have killed CO by now:

    A-ion (not sure why this is a banned word)
    WoW: Cataclysm
    STO
    Goin' Rogue
    DCUO
    SWTOR

    Whatever the health of the game or the effort of the devs to support it, so far it's still going. Some days it seems like a miracle, but Champions Online, like it's PnP namesake, has shown a remarkable amount of resistance for going down for the third time in the face of certain DOOM!

    As for what I'd like to see as an 1100 day reward: increase the xp bonus to 20%, and give us one rank *7* catalyst. One of which likely requires changing a single line of code, the other of which is already available in store. No delays should be required. Give us a new costume set every 200 days, and you should have plenty of time to plan.

    AFAIR it was 72 hours, but don't quote me on that.
    I've got over 500 presents in email storage just waiting for them to DING myself :cool:

    I thought the rewards were supposed to end at the 1000 day?

    Not that I'm against free stuff, but I'd be Ok with Retcons & alternating name change tokens, or perhaps a costume pack/power token for each century mark from here on out.

    Maybe they can drop the destroid invasion force in,you know the same one that hit Ren Cen in the end of beta event,and give us all devices,G,and costumes!

    You have been saying this even before your ban and recent reprieve. Doesn't it get dull being proven wrong consistently? I suspect that you will feel validated when the game does eventually close, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. In the meantime, please help fulfill your 'prophecy' and feel free to leave both the game and forums.

    DOOM-cryers never have any shame. They're the Harold Camping of the CO forums; perpetually wrong, incapable of sincere apologies, and they're usually back with new cries of doom when they think people have forgotten about their last inept prediction. They're like Batman villains, pathologically wired to give riddles, flip coins, make ice puns etc, except their schtick is to (loudly) proclaim the coming apocalypse.

    Why do they say such things when this game has been around for a long time and every thing that was supposed to mean the end of CO hasnt phased it,Really if uyou dont like this game,then just go and dont spam the forums.:frown:

    We're waiting to see what the event is cryptic!

    go on surprise us,I wouldn't mind to see the destroid invasion of MC again,after all,bloodmoon was bought back,so what about the Destroid invasion or some other massive zone wide event for COs anniversary!?
