Maybe they listened to all the people who complained about it being unable to fly like Ice Slide. And now they are making it a reskin of Ice Slide.

Personally I want to see a non-flying superspeed-like ice slide, but hey... to each their own...

I sure hope not, we have enough flights already, and Ice slide is the worst of all of them.
Sorry for the wall of text... I'm sleepy and maybe a little out of it because I just ate some of the best tacos I've ever had. Made them myself from scratch. Anyway, they were so tasty I gorged myself and am suffering from an onset of postprandial somnolence. So please forgive my rambling.
Well, it's not totally deactivated. If a character of yours already has it, you can continue to use it on that character...
I just wish we had a heads up about what they think is wrong with it...
However, I have noticed some quirky things regarding the physics of the power. For starters, you can turn on a dime as long as you're in the air. This makes it a little weird to maneuver because you have to over correct and "drift" when on the ground, but if you hit a change in elevation, suddenly you're airborn and the traction is a lot higher, changing the movement dynamics.
It just kind of feels weird in a number of ways... Honestly, I could probably do better than the current state it's in. Not trying to toot my own horn here, but making fun physics in video games is something I do extremely well. I've made everything from hang gliders that are fun and easy to fly, to hover tanks that are fun as heck to drive around. Mind you, what I do isn't realistic, but it's fun.
The hang glider in particular was not using an actual physics engine. It was explicitly designed so that you you lost energy slower when climbing than you gained it when diving, it was a very subtle effect, but it increased the fun factor. If you DID land, you had to run around and find a new place to jump off from and hope you got enough speed to be able to start flying again. It was actually really cool. Was the first thing I ever did regarding vehicle physics. I didn't even know what I was doing, math/physics wise; just experimenting, and it ended up landing me a job that lasted for a few years. It's when I discovered my real talent in programming.
The hover tank had this nice effect where if you drove it off a drop, you'd continue to hover as if on flat ground for about 2 seconds, then it'd slam into the ground with a loud clanging sound and lift back off, wobbling a little bit for about a second. If you had a lot of velocity and it was a hard surface, you'd lose a lot of speed with a metal grinding sound and sparks flying off the corners of the vehicle. The effect was visceral and very fun.
I kind of hope the vehicles we get, when we get them, will have similarily fun dynamics hidden in them, rather than just being flat and boring many of the travel powers are (I love Energy Slide even as it is and Ice Slide because they definitely have that fun feeling to them), and especially like the NPC vehicles we have in the game. The cars, anaconda tanks, ospreys, etc all look like they'd be very un-fun to drive since they're so... robotic... Although that's likely a result of them not having a real vehicle system, but rather simply lerping around.
But that's neither here nor there, I wish who ever is having to redo Energy Slide good luck, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

For you ... i cant choose it in the travelpower window but i buyed it.
This better be the case xD
