a minor pet peeve about powers (sorry, rant)

I'm a little disappointed that there's not more flexibility in the visual styles of many of the abilities. There are a couple of abilities that are "must have" for my build that look utterly wrong. Note: my character is Wind/Celestial with wind- and light-based powers.

For example, I started out with Seraphim. When it's active and colored properly, it looks like little curls of air, and they look fantastic on my air-based character. They look cool when he's standing still and even better when he's moving. However, I just found out that Aura of Primal Majesty is a much (MUCH!) better passive for my build, and even when it is colored properly, it's still got runes flying all over the place. Why not have more 0-point advantages where we can change this sort of thing?

Another example is Vala's Light. When I color it yellow, it glows Yellow/Orange/Red on my character and Green on my targets. That sort of defeats the purpose of allowing me to color the powers, doesn't it? If no matter what I pick I am guaranteed to get Green and half of the spectrum? And it's the only AE sphere heal, so I'm either stuck with a power that doesn't match my character or stuck without a proper AE heal. (Yes, I know there's a cone. It's ugly too. My rant. Hush, you.)

My biggest disappointment was with Tornado Flight. It would have been perfect for my character and his theme. In two of the three screenshots, it's bright white or whitish-blue. Perfect. Now when I save up and buy Tornado Flight... It's filled with dirt. Brown dirt. Everywhere, even after I "color" the power.

I guess part of why these things bother me is that in general, this game allows for a huge amount of character customization. It's also improved a ton since I last checked in on the game a couple of years ago. I am just frustrated by these hidden visual limitations when I'm trying to create something a half-step outside of the box.

Well, my cosmetic pet peeves mostly have to do with females:

    1) The necks on female models look ridiculous when arched back (with flight/jet flight/jet pack). They're too long, too thin, and look broken. I hide them with the hood costume piece, or with the wrapped scarf back piece, or the studded armor neck piece, sometimes all of the above.

    2) I want to be able to have different gender costumes for the same character. I should be able to make a girl character that looks feminine for one costume and in power-armored mode looks massive. Or normal female costume and then monster form. I mean, werewolf girl, really? Werewolf girl, if she has boobs at all, should have multiple pairs of them.

    3) The base female model also need a larger range of builds. One should be able to make really thick characters--like for the male character model.

    4) I want to be able to have asymmetric arms. Not just normal or robot or monstrous choices; I'd like to be able to give a character one giant arm and hand and one normal one. I understand that this can't be done with the legs because that would screw up walking animations, but for arms, this should be quite doable.

m34nb34r2? I agree with all of that. Most specifically, the mixing male and female costumes. Why? 2 words. Samus Aran. We had a whole game where we thought she was a dude, before they did the reveal.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

Tornado Flight's effects change depending on the terrain beneath you. You can get brown debris, grey debris, plant debris, etc. It's a bluish white mist if you're high above the ground or above water.
