New Alert Ideas

I was thinking of new types of alerts that would be fun to do. A Rescue Alert came to mind. Players que to join, then one player is randomly selected to be captured/imprisoned by the Villain.

Classic settings such as being tied to a log slowly moving towards the saw blade, imprisoned in a cage over a pit, in a tank slowly filling with water, hanging over a pool filled with sharks with laserbeams, that sort of thing.

What kind of Alerts would you like to see?

    A travel power alert an alert where you get a random travel power that makes you fight in it.

    Well, the alert would suck for the victim, as they'd basically have to sit there while the others do the work.

    I'd like to see a "VIP Alert", where one player is randomly chosen to be the VIP, and the teammates have to protect them for a set amount of time or for a set number of enemy waves. Travel powers would have to be disabled, for obvious reasons. Although, the VIP could just be an NPC and we'd get a similar event.

    Another idea would be a "King of the mountain" Alert, where our team must hold a specific location against increasingly tougher waves of enemies - if too many get to the top (or to some specific location), a timer starts an you have that much time to defeat them or lose the alert.

    Another interesting idea would be an alert where the team has to split up - perhaps one group would have to distract a guardian so he exposes some vulnerable point on a machine somewhere, and another group has to destroy that vulnerable point.

    Yet another idea would have our heroes having to prevent some disaster - like having to destroy some objects to make a safe path for an incoming lava flow to travel down, while simultaneously protecting & rescuing civilians from volcanic ejecta flying their way.

    This could be done as an "Escort" Alert. There are plenty of "escort" missions in the game, where you follow an NPC around and protect him from attackers; this could be much the same thing. One possible difference is that, while the enemies only pop up every once in a while in those regular Missions, in an Alert they'd be coming in fast and strong.

    The tough part from a development standpoint would be bringing in the boss. Probably the boss would take a stance of "If you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself, though I suppose there are other possibilities.

    For the specific content, one possibility would be escorting Mayor Biselle from City Hall to the location where he makes his speech. Another could be accompanying Black Mask from her usual location to the VBPD to drop off some evidence.

    Five men enter, one loses instantly. AWESOME idea! :rolleyes:
    And the worst part is; these days I can see Cryptic actually doing that. :(

    Well, rescue alerts like this would be a good idea, but only if the victim is a NPC!

    I love your ideas. All "escort", "king of hill" and "VIP" can be "protect" alert, where you have to protect something or someone for attacking villains. /signed

    I like to see nemesis all of now existing alerts.

    I suggest alert, where five nemesis are grouped together to do something nasty and heroes have to stop them. (Think: five nemesis!)

    Is Nemcon lair or alert?

    I suggest 5 nemesis alert.
