I would love it is Hero System would produce a rule set that could be used in Fantasy Grounds 2 (an online virtual table top). http://www.fantasygrounds.com/home/
I'm trying to recall if I've seen or talked to those guys at GenCon or Origins... the logo looks vaguely familiar.
The trick with something like this is, we can't afford the time or effort to create anything on our own. If the owners of an online gaming aid wanted to create a plug-in with our permission, or license the HERO System for use with their product, we're usually pretty open to things like that. But if it involves any significant effort on our part the odds are against it.
They themselves make all thier own rulesets/plugins for the tabletop emulator. I own it....you buy the ruleset it downloads then you can use it on your end. Other players can buy the *lite* version which just gives them the interface so they can run with thier GM.
