Frequent Random Game Crashes

Problem: Game crashes extremely randomly, even when doing nothing but reading powers, even sometimes just seconds into the game
Solution: Update graphics card drivers & increased free memory space on hard drive containing Windows (by deleting unused files)
Comment: Thought the game was buggy, but turns out it was PC issue on my end. After the solution above (not sure which one though), I went from 10 crashes a day to none.
Edit: Nevermind, the frequent crashes came back... sometimes with, sometimes without error handler.

I've had random crashes as well. Windows 11, i9-12900k, RTX 3080. I want to share a few things I've done that also have NOT worked:
    • Disable "Interrupt Moderation" in ethernet card. (Device Manager > Network Adapters > your ethernet controller > Advanced > find and disable Interrupt Moderation)
    • Disable Threaded Optimization for Champions Online in nvidia control panel
    • Disable Reduced File Streaming in Champions Online options (Options > Video > Troubleshooting)
    • Running the game in Compatibility Mode for Windows 8 (this actually increases instability)

Here are things that are frequently suggested, but other players with similar setups confirm they do NOT work:
    • Completely reinstalling the game
    • Using a different launcher (e.g. Steam instead of Arc, or standalone instead of either of those)
    • Rolling your graphics drivers back to any older version
    • Running the game in DX11 mode

The crash logs (which have stopped generating completely since December 6th) all have this extremely generic single line:
    241205 13:14:50    115 Client[0 P[14028169@31841649 O.L.E.A.N.D.E.R.@shaman#2823]]: GSM_Quit(). Reason: emEditorMain or utilitiesLibShouldQuit()

Note that it indicates the character you were supposedly playing at the time of the crash, but this is not always accurate in my experience, just to add to the weirdness.

I have a similar problem with the game randomly crashing, usually once a day but sometimes several times. Started happening around 3 months ago.

I have two kind of game crashes myseld

    1. A 100% one, Exiting Alerts and Social Instances via Socrates "Leave Current Map" randomly crash the game
This started happening when more and more new Loading Screen artworks were added, so I suspect them

    3. The more I'm farming Millennium City open missions with multiple characters, the more memory leak is building! Leading to crashing the game!

During the Bloodmoon, I played so much while farming Takofanes for the FIRE Melee PVDS with multiple characters, that the game crashed

The game still has a horrible issue with Memory Leak!
Playing and having Task Manager open, I can see the memory building up!
POWERFRAME REVAMPS, NEW POWERS and BUG FIXES > Recycled Content and Events and even costumes at this point Introvert guy who use CO to make his characters playable and get experimental with Viable FF Theme builds! Running out of Unique FF builds due to the lack of updates and synergies! Playing since 1 February 2011 128 + Characters (21 ATs, 107 FFs) ALTitis for Life!
