Three Builds: TK Blades/Tech & Munitions & Magic or Pure Magic Build

I've got 2 builds I want to warp up

Build 1:Energy Weaponry

The first build will be replace my attempt on using the Laser Sword build with the use of TK blades instead, The build itself will have a heavy focus on TK blades with the usage of Frenzy & Reckless to have a small tanking role but still upkeep high DPS. (This brings back the old role I had with the Might build/w the use of Defensive Combo & Reckless)

This build will also try to have some Tech powers in the mix, this being Energy Shield mostly with a single power from the Tech Tree for a bit of thematic use but for that last power I'm unsure what to pick: Bad Sector /w Analyse Weakness or Particle Smash /w Light Ever, etc.

Specs/Tals and SS are ripped from my Psi Jacker build

Last power is a open slot for now

Build 2:Maigc & Guns

The second build will be my attempt at a Magic Gunslinger build, however I do have a alt build if the combination of Munitions & Magic doesn't work

The build uses the Munitions as it's framework, Gunslinger/Holdout Shot with Two-Gun Mojo as my main ranged power, my AoE will be Star Barrage and for a DoT upkeep of magic damage I have Hex of Suffering

As for the passive I'm not entirely sure what is best so I went for the best passive that effects both damage, thus being Quarry as it boost both Physical and non physical damage and I'm not sure if I want to go for Shotgun over Burst Shot for the AP

As for the Specs/SS and Tals, I just went with the basics of a Gunslinger build but they are open to change to help out the magic part of the build

Last power is a open slot for now

Alt Build of Magic Build:

This is a alt build of the magic and gun if it doesn't work out right, I've gone for the SS and Tals that are best suited for a Pure magic build (I think..) while my main attack is the use of Psi, since I'd like to use a Combo power, rather then a blast.

As for the Specs I have no clue, so I'll need help on this one and the last 2 powers can be whatever needs to be placed into the build

The 1st build is mostly fine. For the open slot you can get a threat wipe, a CC power, or just w/e ya like for the theme, since the build should be able to play well as is. Keep in mind that Dex will be the main stat, since that scales up Mental Disc, and then you prob want to get 3/3 in 6th Sense if keeping Ego PSS.

The 2nd build will likely run into energy issues when using Star Barrage, since the power is pretty expensive and it won't proc KI as the EU. You could get Conjuring as the EU, since Hex can roll that easily, but then you have to keep Hex up in combat generally, and then you'd also want Int SS'd. Additionally, if using Conjuring then you can switch Chilled Form to Concentration and make Int your main stat, w/ either a INT/Dex/Con or DEX/Int/Con SS setup. You could keep Quarry if focusing on Int, since Int scales up Quarry's Audacity buff, but otherwise you may want to just switch Quarry for NW. If you don't want to use Hex + Conjuring + Int, then you could take Overdrive as the EU (and End SS) since it works on all maintains (though in general its energy procs aren't as strong).

The 3rd Magic build isn't that cohesive atm, since you're mixing TK w/ Sorcery, there's w/ some attack redundancy (TK Burst and Star Barrage both being spam-able AoEs), and the build is lacking a strong single-target attack (TK Strike is usually taken to boost powers like TK Lance via ELeech stacking; it's not a strong attack on its own). I don't know what main attack(s) you want to settle on, but it's prob better to pick one of the sets (Sorc or ranged TK) and just focus on that.

Yup, I had thought I'd only need to do some little finishing touches to make the build decent and with that being said here are the finishing touches:

I've gone ahead and replaced my Ego PSS with Dex as that should be my main stat as you said and kept Ego for the tiny bit of Extra damage.

For the last power I've gone for Bad Sector/w AW adv for the extra shield, but I will have it as the last power encase I want to replace it for a TW.

As for this build, I've gone ahead and made a few changes:

I've gone ahead and swapped to NW (As I keep forgetting this passive exists lol), I also kept KI since this build does have a focus on Munitions, so I think I can keep both KI & Chilled Form.

Since Star Barrage is pretty expensive I've gone ahead and removed it: I'm not sure what else I can use in favour for more mystical powers

a handful of powers I have in mind are: Skarn's Bane/Pillar of Poz or one of the Circle of X powers. (I'm not sure how expensive Bane is tho)

Let me know if I need to change anything

Sorry about the 3rd build, It was something to fall back on if the 2nd build didn't work and it was very late at night when I made this build so that's why it was wasn't cohesive but regardless I'll go ahead and fix the errors so it looks like a actual build:

For the build I've gone ahead and picked Sorc set, rather then mixing.

Star Barrage is my main attack, while Soul Beam is for my strong single-target attack (Unless there's a better one), Eldritch Blast/w advs is just to spam/proc Jinxed and Illum and Pill of Poz is my Heal/cost reduce for my powers.

I've also got Hex of Suffering for the DoT and Stun, last power can be one of the Circle of X powers, whatever is best.

Specs/Tals and SS are all around for Spellcaster and Conjuring, with Dex to help with the DPS.

For the 1st build, if you're going to switch to Dex PSS (which is fine), then you can consider just replacing Ego SS w/ Con SS, since Ego as a 2ndary SS isn't adding much of a dmg boost due to diminished returns.

For the 2nd build, Skarn's Bane is indeed quite cheaper than Star Barrage. You could potentially get away w/ it not being supported by the EU, since it'll still proc Chilled Form. That said, you already have Bullet Hail, so you don't really need another spam-able AoE (unless you want to replace BH w/ Skarn's).

The 3rd build is on the right track for a Sorc dps. If you wanted to still use Hex and Eld Blast (the alternative just being the Wisp), then here's how I'd prob edit it:

The Threat Wipe and/or CoPD could be replaced w/ something else, if desired.

For single-targets, it initially uses Hex (to put up Hexed) and charged Eld Blast (to put up Illum), while Soul Beam is your main attack, and you can charge Eld Blast to refresh Hexed and Illum (reapplying Hex can also refresh Hexed, but Eld Blast lets you also do that at >50ft). Star Barrage can be the main AoE, and you can use CoPD if you ever need to play more defensively (could be changed to Pillar of Poz if you just want a healing rune, or w/e else ya want to add). Gears mostly for Int, w/ some Dex and Con.

Small qeastion: I could go with the Brawler/Vindicator route since I have quite high HP thanks to my Gear and I've got plenty of shielding from 3 of my powers, you think it might be safe to bet that I can go for a more DPS choice for the specs here?

For the 2nd build, Skarn's Bane is indeed quite cheaper than Star Barrage. You could potentially get away w/ it not being supported by the EU, since it'll still proc Chilled Form. That said, you already have Bullet Hail, so you don't really need another spam-able AoE (unless you want to replace BH w/ Skarn's).

For the 2nd build, I've gone ahead and replaced BH w/ Skarn's Bane since it's indeed quite cheaper than Star Barrage and it fits quite well for the theme I am going for, now while you mentioned that I could potentially get away w/ it not being supported by the EU, since it'll still proc Chilled Form, do you think the build will be better if I went ahead and got a EU to support Skarn's Bane while still upkeeping the use of Two-Gun Mojo? (Since Two-Gun Mojo is my main STG)

Another qeastion I have is regarding Burst Shot Vs Shotgun to apply AP: If I understand this correctly (and with testing on other builds) you can only apply AP on a single target (with a %chance of being other targets) regardless of if your power is AoE or not.

So with that being said is there any key difference between picking either 2, since Shotgun can just have AP/w another Rank or Adv, while Burst Shot comes with AP out the box, leaving potentially 4 Advs to spare. (I have left Burst Shot without any ranks due to this)

Other power is still up in the air atm, but since I might potentially replace the EU, I might go with another magic power

Small qeastion: I could go with the Brawler/Vindicator route since I have quite high HP thanks to my Gear and I've got plenty of shielding from 3 of my powers, you think it might be safe to bet that I can go for a more DPS choice for the specs here?
(you keep misspelling question as 'qeastion' and it's kinda weird lol)

Anyways, Brawler spec is quite good for TK blades, since Setup works well w/ its single-target rotation of alternating between Ego Weaponry and charged EBA. Brawler spec also is good for Ruthless, Penetrating Strikes, and Flanking (or Finishing Blow). Wardicator is ofc solid overall, but swapping to Brawler is better if you just want more dps.

If Skarn's is usually affordable w/ just Chilled Form, then it's fine to keep KI as the EU if you want to minimize changes to the build. If energy is still an issue w/ Skarn's then you could switch to Overdrive and change Rec SS for End SS to help boost it a bit. OD prob won't give as much energy back for TGM vs. KI, but you should prob be fine w/ TGM's energy either way. The other approach is the Int + Conjuring one, which is good but is also a bit more drastic.

Also, for Ego PSS, I'd prob also change back to 3/3 in Follow Through and 2/3 in 6th Sense, assuming Ego is your main stat still (you'd want 3/3 in 6th Sense if Dex was the main stat).
Another qeastion I have is regarding Burst Shot Vs Shotgun to apply AP: If I understand this correctly (and with testing on other builds) you can only apply AP on a single target (with a %chance of being other targets) regardless of if your power is AoE or not.

Shotgun can replace Burst Shot for the AP debuff, but yeah it takes at least 2 adv points to do so. You could switch to Shotgun here if you really liked its look more and/or if you wanted to also use it as an AoE opener, otherwise R1 Burst Shot is good enough to keep for TGM as is.

I am unsure what this last partial build is referring to. Is it meant to reflect using Int and Conjuring + Concentration instead? If so, you can prob get away w/ swapping Rec SS for Con SS, at least when your stats/gear are decent (the Talents can be used get different combos of Int, Dex, Con, and Rec). Int PSS and Int Mastery offer a nice boost to your energy stats w/o needing to SS them. Also keep in mind that Int would be your main stat then, though you can still get some Dex for the extra crit%, and then you'd also want to keep Hex up for Conjuring (even when using TGM, which shouldn't be too difficult to do).

Yup thought so, I'll swap to Brawldicator, thanks for the help on this build

Sorry if I wasn't as clear enough on what I mentioned:

While I was testing I didn't notice any energy problems, however what I tired to mention if it'll be wise to swtich to another EU to allow Skarn's Bane & Hex of Suffering to proc better on top of Chilled Form and that's what the partial build is referring to, by switching KI to Conjuring in order to upkeep Cruses since of the heavy use of both of them powers.

If I switched to Conjuring I'd have to change my SSs to reflect on that change as well, since I will need to use Int for Conjuring, since I'll be upkeeping Cruses, while TGM is for single targets, but I suppose if I did swtich the EU, I think it'll be best to go for Concentration, since my PSS will be Int.

But as you did mention already that if Skarn is affordable w/ just Chilled Form, then it's fine to keep KI as the EU, then I don't need to swtich, hope that made more sense ^^

Okay, all I wanted to know thanks, I'll likely stick to Burst Shot then to save some Advs Points

As for a quick example on the two builds I mentioned, the one I started with and then the partial build:

The first one is from the partial build with the interest of useing Conjuring as my EU with the Tals/Specs and SS changed to reflect that but also gone for Pillar of Poz/w Dilemma foe the extra up keep of Cruses.

    As show below

While the build without the changes to the EU (Tals/Specs and SS changed respectfully) is just the use of TGM in order to keep the KI porc going.

Okay, well that all sounds good. And yea, if you aren't having energy problems w/ the Muni + Sorc build then you don't necessarily need to change anything. Let me know if you still end up have issues w/ it, though.

    Thanks again

For the 1st build I simply swapped to Brawldicator set up and for the 2nd build I ended up going for the Conjuring as my EU setup due to the use of alot of Cruses. However I can always swap it back to the original build with little cost

Okay forgot about the 3rd build but here is a small edit:

Since as I said in the other build that Skarn's Bane is indeed quite cheaper than Star Barrage I've decided to opt out of it completely and just use Skarn's Bane as my main attack and keep Soul Beam as my single target damage.

I've also gone ahead and replaced Circle of Primal Dominion with Pillar of Poz for the more Heal/Cruse approach, but everything else is perrty much what you've edited.

(I was trying to see if I can get away with useing a Combo power, like Ego Strike, but I think EB is best here)

If this build is all good, I might end up going back to the PH and picking this for my OC, rather then useing Guns/Magic, since I can always have the "Gun" as Role Play situation and I have fallen in love with Skarn's Bane & Hex of Suffer

Also, below here is with me going back with my original SS/Specs and Tals, mostly due to my gear having a focus on Con/Rec and PSS (I have the Vig gear, with points going towards Con and Rec and more PPS focus, not a issue I can always change my Primey gear, but yes)

Also I wanted to ask, should I still go for Concentration or could I get away with getting Spellcaster, since most of my powers have Cruses now?

Well, Star Barrage's higher cost shouldn't matter that much for that 3rd build, since it will work w/ Conjuring (unlike w/ KI in the Muni build). That said, either Star Barrage or Skarn's Bane are fine for Sorc's main AoE. Star Barrage is often taken cause it can be used past 50ft (and that's its main benefit over Skarn's, aside from slightly higher base dps), but Skarn's does have other benefits (cheaper, wider AoE, stun adv option), so it's just up to you.
Also I wanted to ask, should I still go for Concentration or could I get away with getting Spellcaster, since most of my powers have Cruses now?

Spellcaster could work as an alternative to Conc, but note that it doesn't innately proc w/ Soul Beam, and you already have an Enchantment effect via EBlast's Illum adv (and Pillar of Poz's Mystical, though you may not need the latter adv). Also, if you are constantly re-applying Hex when using Soul Beam then you may not need Eld Blast's Chant adv and could just get R2 on the Blast (Chant's refresh on Hexed would mostly be used if you wanted play at >50ft w/ Soul Beam, since Hex itself is limited to 50ft).

Lastly, the difference between Rec_End and Con SS for the INT PSS build won't matter that much either way, since neither will be a main stat, and Enlightened + Int Mastery would still help non-SS'd stats anyways.

Star Barrage is often taken cause it can be used past 50ft (and that's its main benefit over Skarn's, aside from slightly higher base dps), but Skarn's does have other benefits (cheaper, wider AoE, stun adv option), so it's just up to you.

Okie-Dokie!, thanks for the information on this and yes I can see why sometimes Star Barrage is taken due to that higher range and slightly higher damage, but I suppose you just have to balance out what you'd like.

Spellcaster could work as an alternative to Conc, but note that it doesn't innately proc w/ Soul Beam and you already have an Enchantment effect via EBlast's Illum adv (and Pillar of Poz's Mystical, though you may not need the latter adv).

Hm alright then, I'll juggle the two Forms to see what what works best (meaning, I'll put it near the end of the power list for cheeper removal)

As for not needing Eld Blast's Chant adv as you stated above, I've gone ahead and just kept in EBlast's Illum adv and placed the last rank into my AD, while it's a bit overkill, I don't see any reason to put R2 into Blast, since I only use that to apply the adv and I try to avoid Blast Powers as best as I can. (Not a fan of them). I did keep in the adv from Pillar of Poz's however for the constant re-applying of Mystical

The other options I was thinking to go for to not have EBlast (if I could get away with it) is by useing either TK Strike /w the Siphoning Strikes adv for a another self-heal or Lash/w Decay (I think magic counts as elemental?)

Other than that little nit-picky, I think that's that for the build

Oh, I thought that you wanted the Blast this whole time. If not. then you can just use Hex to refresh Hexed (if you don't mind staying w/in 50ft) and Pillar's Mystical adv for the Enchantment, and then Eld Blast isn't really needed anymore. Another good option is to just use the Wisp from Infernal, since it's 100ft and can apply both Hexed (via Cursed) and an Enchantment (via Guide), and then you don't need Hex or Pillar's adv (or other similar powers). You don't have to take that approach, but it another option to consider. The other attacks you mentioned aren't really a good fit for the build and wouldn't provide much to it, so I may just pass on them (also, Magic dmg is not Elemental dmg- it's instead classed as Paranormal dmg).

While I personally dislike useing Blast Powers, I will put up with some of them, if I have to (powers like Burst Shot, for example) but yes, should've made that clear from the start, my bad on that. But yes since I do have Pillar's Mystical adv for the Enchantment and I'm always quite close to mobs anyway (within 50ft) then I can delf seeing I don't need blast

Hm, that is always a another option to consider, I'll play around with that and see what I can do, thanks for the suggestion!

Yup, after some testing of the powers I suggested, they don't really help out on much, so I'll pass on them

This is the final build I ended up going for, I had to ditch TK Darts, to fit in another magic power, but that's not a issue at all. I did go for Warlock Blades, since while pets are not as strong, they do serve as a good distraction, but I ended up going for the Ult, since it has more uses.

Yea, the Ult is good if you have it unlocked. Regardless of the other powers you settle on (and testing out Conc vs Spellcaster), the build looks pretty good overall.
