Forgive the Madness

This maybe the most sorry build about, but it is fun. I just need to start knowing what will make sense of it. I like all the attacks because its DOTs. I have to be range and then melee. The build may be far from useful in many peoples eyes but at least it raises some people stats. I really like the playstyle. Summoning, the summons go in with DOT, I go in with DOT. Lots of numbers. People may roll eyes but atleast I buff their stats. I wonder though if without changing attacks could she be more effective? OFC but I need expert advice. I am tempted with making a mage tanker later, I just see her as playing as one but low down on the threat level, so not attracting aggro. Thanks in advance.

Although pet-based builds can be fine in most casual content, they generally won't be welcome in higher-end large group content, since CO's pet AI isn't great and they can be disruptive to those encounters (also many fights can easily kill pets as is, making them inefficient). I don't know of your situation in-game, but if you were receiving any push-back for using this build, then that may be why. That said, the pets in this case are technically just two powers (Warlock and Pyro blades- firesnake is not technically a 'pet' by CO's mechanics), so you could also just not use those two powers when fighting Cosmics. The rest of the build strikes me as a bit unfocused overall, and I'm not quite sure if you're trying to be some sort of hybrid-dps or a support/healer type (keep in mind that Hybrid aura users also generally aren't welcome at stuff like Cosmics, and if playing Support then it's generally a good idea to have an ally rez power trained).

I will also say atm that you usually don't need to rank up threat wipes and melee lunges, and the build is a bit lacking in single-target dmg (if dealing dmg is a priority here). Telepathic Reverb is also not going to work as the EU here (not that energy should be much of an issue w/ AoPM), and Ego SSS is not really adding that much. I may also take R3 in TK Shield over its 3-pt adv. It's prob also worth it get at least one travel power (the one you plan on using the most) up to R3.

Also, the Overseer and Arbiter auras don't exist anymore (not that they were good picks anyways, cause their bonuses ended up being quite weak after DRs were considered). You can use the beta version of the HC Planner, since that's a bit more up-to-date:
    https://aesica.net/co/beta/herocreator.htm

Regardless, for now, I will await more details/guidance before I give more feedback.

Thank you for your input, I did a respec, she now gives a 5000 shield and ups everyones stats 100, as well as bring the madness. Pre/Ego/Rec. Also a ST attack, Ego builds ego blades.

Okay, but that doesn't give me much extra info to go on (w/o seeing an updated build). I am not sure what you mean by "Ego builds ego blades" for the ST attack, but you could just add Ego Blade Annihilation (EBA) somewhere, and use that when you build up 5x stacks of Ego Leech w/ Ego Blade Frenzy (EBF). That can give you a bit of spike damage for single-targets, at least. If you just meant that TK blades scale w/ Ego- that is true, but that scaling drops off sharply past 70 stat points (and AoPM gives that w/o needing to SS Ego anyways), and is heavily affected by dmg DR. It's not really a great reason to keep Ego SSS (and it can't make up for not having an ST attack), as it won't boost your final dmg by that much (rather, by dropping Dex SS you lost some dps/hps anyways by losing some crit%). Also, I assume by referring to the '5000 shield' that you mean the Mental Block adv on EBF- which is good, but is only for you, and only as long as you use EBF.

What type of content do you normally run with this build? It seems that you usually play as Support w/ Pres stacked, which is fine, but your healing kit is a bit limited for a Support atm. I may at least add an ally rez power in there (if you haven't already w/ the respec), though the utility of an ally rez power does depend on the type of content you're doing (as could the use for more single-target dmg).

    Happy Holidays, regardless.

Hi again, I did do a bigger reply yesterday after a respec but upon editing, I accidentally deleted it. Lots of work for nothing. Then I just did that reply thinking okay, maybe I can get away with my concept. When in teams I intend using my block and inbetween blocks, mindful reinforcement on people, along with my other helpful team bonuses. I only play in support. Mindful Reinforcement scales on the level of people I use it on but its on 4900+ on 40s. I put a lot into shield bonuses. There is a little bit of freedom in the specialization tree as in as long as I have put 1 on something say in sentry, when next in sentinel I can come back and turn that one into 2 and so fill up over 10 on the one role I wish to get the most out of. I also have blade dance for concept and was thinking of draysha gas.

The concept is a bit like Scarlet Witch/Psylocke. I have alot of characters and PVP/DPS is not my thing but if I can get a concept to atleast peak then good or peak at something specialist, also good.

Yea, I know the pain of having a long post or reply deleted (needless to say that the 'save draft' feature on the forums is very helpful for me). It's okay, but now I know at least that you mostly want to play as a shield-based healer (though you couldn't have really done that much w/ the original build, since it lacked Protection Field or Mindful Reinforcement). If that's the case, then having a strong single-target attack can still be useful potentially, but it's also not that important if you're mostly doing group content where you rely more on teammates. Also, you don't typically want to rank up a toggle/form like Compassion, since it shouldn't be hard to stack it as is. I'd also still rank up a travel power and prob get an ally rez (I still don't know what kind of content you normally run, but being able to rez teammates can be helpful regardless).

Assuming that you want to be a shield healer, and still keep the blades theme intact, then here's how I'd prob edit the build:

    Magenta - Freeform (Support)
    v3.45:38

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Presence (Primary)
    Level 10: Intelligence (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents

    Level 12: Negotiator (Int: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 18: Shrug It Off (Con: 5, Pre: 5)
Level 21: Healthy Mind (Con: 5, Int: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Kinetic Darts
Level 1: Ego Blade Frenzy (Instill Doubt, Mental Block)
Level 6: Telekinetic Shield (Rank 2)
Level 8: Aura of Primal Majesty (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Compassion
Level 14: Will-o'-the-Wisp (Guide, Ghost Fire)
    Level 17: Conjuring
Level 20: Arcane Vitality (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Mindful Reinforcement (Rank 2, Rank 3) (*or get R3 Protection Field)
Level 26: Redemption (Rank 2, Salvation)
    Level 29: Warlock's Blades (Rank 2)
    Level 32: Pyromancer's Blades (Rank 2)
    Level 35: Thundering Return
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 34/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6: Acrobatics (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Regal Flight (Rank 2)

    Specializations
    Presence: Repurpose (3/3)
    Presence: Selfless Ally (2/2)
    Presence: Moment of Glory (3/3)
    Presence: Force of Will (2/2)
    Sentinel: Caregiver (3/3)
    Sentinel: Sentinel Aura (3/3)
    Sentinel: Moment of Need (3/3)
    Sentinel: Genesis (1/2)
    Sentry: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Sentry: Precise (3/3)
    Sentry: Sentry Aura (3/3)
    Sentry: Fortify (1/2)
    Mastery: Presence Mastery (1/1)

The open power slot can be w/e ya want.

The Wisp is a great power here, since it can roll Conjuring easily for extra energy, apply both Illumination's buff and debuff versions (to help w/ healing), and w/ the Ghost Fire adv put up both Fear (to slightly lower enemy dmg) and a DoT in CFlames (and the power is easy to use since it's instant and has long range). Needless to say, in general you'll want to keep the Wisp up somewhere for its many benefits.

Outside of that, you can choose to play more offensively w/ EBF and the Blades powers (though you prob shouldn't use the pet powers/devices when fighting Cosmics), and/or more defensively w/ MR for shielding and Arcane Vit for more direct ally (and self) healing. You may also want to consider replacing MR w/ Protection Field; it doesn't have the potential heal effect upon expiry, but the shield itself lasts much longer (20sec vs. 8sec). Sentry spec could also be replaced w/ Overseer spec; it's a bit more offense-oriented, but also has a decent general healing bonus w/ Administer, and a nice severity boost in Ruthless (which also works w/ crit-enabled heals like Arcane Vit). Other spec options could also work here- like Protection for more personal survival, and Vindicator or Guardian for more personal bonuses, though I'd prob still keep Sentinel spec. Regardless, the build gears mostly for Pres, w/ some Int and Con.

Thank you for all your advice. I am happy with 3 power suggestions of yours from the last post and one from possibly second. It's in concept and more teamy thank you. Will-0-Wisp is a really good replacement for Fire Snake, then that went Conjuring, I dropped my own self res as I have hundreds of self res devices anyway, I can just change build, to fit in Redemption and Arcane Vitality is there. Specializations are close, so I will try out your specializations above and my specializations below as it's a gear thing.

Okay, fair enough. Although I would advise against changing things that help the build out functionally (like Wisp + Conjuring + Int SS, or having an ally rez- at least in content where it can be useful, having a normal ally/self heal, etc), feel free to experiment w/ different aspects of the build to suit your own goals and/or preferences (I am just one person giving one example, after all). I will say, though, if for some reason you run out of self-rez consumables, that you may want take the power(s) that you are most unsure about (and any of its advs) and train it last. That way, in the future you could more cheaply/easily re-train it and replace it w/ something like a self-rez power, if needed.

Either way, I hope w/e build you settle on works well for you.

Thank you for your help so far. I came back to the thread and adjusted for a self res and changed to Protection Field as it lasts longer. Is this more like it?

Sure thing. You may be okay to just leave the self-rez at R1, but otherwise that edit looks fine.
