Might Tank/DPS. Nuclear Shockwave, Shadow Eruption.

Hi, I have a few questions:

1) It's been a long time since I've seen a regular Might build here. Both tank and DPS. And please tell me which gear is better for each of them.

2) Tell me please, if it is more effective to use Nuclear Shockwave (with Disintegrate) and Shadow Eruption (with Devoid) as a ranged damage buff. Or is it better for melee?

    Responding to question 2...

They are both ranged attacks, so will inherently do more damage for a ranged build.

I'd say melee particle damage builds (i.e. laser sword) has better ways to apply disintegrate. But, shockwave wouldn't be a terrible choice. However, shockwave is probably best for a pulp guns or pulse beam rifle build.. or even chest beam spam.

For melee dimensional damage, you can apply devoid with open palm strike, which is a melee power. So, I'd say shadow eruption is probably also better for ranged darkness... although I haven't seen any darkness builds actually use it, since it has a long charge time and low range. People tend to use devices (therakiel's dissonance and shattering rain) to apply devoid.

For the 1st question, it shouldn't be that hard to search for a Might build (there hasn't been much activity here in general lately, but the Search feature should still work fine). That said, we can still give you a build here for it, but I am unclear as to whether you wanted two different builds for tank and dps, or one that tries to combine both in a dual-passive style build.

Two different builds for tank and dps, pls.

( I assume that a dual-passive build, even with the best gear, will be so-so. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong)

Dual passive can be good, but it does depend a bit on how much you invest in gearing either side of the build. I'll give you two separate builds for now, though, since it's an easier approach, and lets me show two general approaches to Might that can work. First, a sample dps build:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
    v3.45:38

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Recovery (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Devastator (Str: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 10, End: 8)
    Level 6: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 9: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
Level 12: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
    Level 18: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)
Level 21: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Clobber
Level 1: Beatdown (Blindside Blow, Reckless Endangerment)
    Level 6: Unstoppable (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 8: Enrage
    Level 11: Pulverizer
Level 14: Demolish (Rank 2, Below the Belt)
    Level 17: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 20: Shockwave (Rank 2, Power Shift)
Level 23: Haymaker (Rank 2, Reckless Strikes)
Level 26: Endorphin Rush (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Retaliation (Rank 2)
    Level 32:
    Level 35:
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 28/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (1/3)
    Strength: Overpower (2/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

The open power slots can be w/e ya want.

For single-targets, it initially uses Demolish to put up its debuff at first, while the main rotation will be alternating between 1x Beatdown combo and 3x charged Haymaker (Beatdown w/ advs will manage Reckless, Blindside, and Demolish). Shockwave can be the main AoE, though Beatdown also has an AoE cleave component. Gears mostly for Str, w/ some Rec and Con.

    And for the tank:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Tank)
    v3.45:38

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Behemoth (Str: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 10, End: 8)
Level 6: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 9: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
    Level 12: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)
Level 18: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
    Level 21: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Clobber
Level 1: Defensive Combo (Rank 2, Pummel, Challenge!)
    Level 6: Defiance (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 8: Enrage
    Level 11: Pulverizer
Level 14: Havoc Stomp (Rank 2, Major Impact, Challenge!)
    Level 17: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 20: Haymaker (Rank 2, Rank 3, Challenge!)
Level 23: Endorphin Rush (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 26: Demolish (Rank 2, Below the Belt)
    Level 29: Retaliation (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 32:
    Level 35:
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 32/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)
    Protector: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Protector: Bulwark (2/2)
    Protector: Debilitating Challenge (2/2)
    Protector: Resolute (3/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Elusive (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Protector Mastery (1/1)

For single-targets, it uses charged Demolish to apply/refresh its debuff, and otherwise uses charged Haymaker as the main attack. Havoc Stomp can help group up enemies around you, while Defense Combo's cleave can be used as basic AoE filler (the combo can also be used in general if you want its dmg shield). Gears mostly for Con, w/ some Str and Rec.

Could also use Wardicator for the specs instead here (like in the dps build) if you want more dmg/threat gen, while still boosting defense some.

Great! please show me a dual-passive build. it turns out that I will have 2 builds per character?
6 gears for tank and 6 gears for dps? Total 12 different gears?

Well, you can only have one build per character at a time, and would need to respec or retcon to completely change a build. A dual-passive setup instead means taking a build w/ two slotted passives for two different roles (offensive vs defensive, for example) and using the 'Builds' tab on the character sheet (and the 'Builds and Passives' tray) to switch between the two different roles and passives, as desired. You're still only using one build on the character, but you can change other things like the power hotbar layout (including which passive is currently slotted), costumes, gear, role, and devices to change your focus. Here's an example dual-passive build for Might that could swap between tank or dps:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Any / Multiple)
    v3.45:38

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Behemoth (Str: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 10, End: 8)
    Level 6: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 9: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
Level 12: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
    Level 18: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)
Level 21: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Clobber
Level 1: Defensive Combo (Rank 2, Pummel)
    Level 6: Unstoppable (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 8: Enrage
    Level 11: Pulverizer
Level 14: Hurl (Hard Fall, Didn't See That Coming)
    Level 17: Resurgence
Level 20: Shockwave (Rank 2, Power Shift, Challenge!)
    Level 23: Haymaker (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 26: Endorphin Rush (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Defiance (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 32: Iron Lariat (Work Up, Challenge!)
    Level 35: Retaliation (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 35/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (2/3)
    Strength: Overpower (1/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Elusive (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

For dps, it uses Unstoppable and the Melee dps role. For tanking, it instead switches to the Tank (or Hyrbid) role and uses Defiance (or Invuln in PA).

For single-targets, it uses Hurl to apply and refresh Demolish, while using Haymaker as the main attack. When tanking, you should also throw Iron Lariat in there for Challenge and another self-heal, while you can skip this step when dps-ing. Shockwave and/or Defense Combo can be used for AoE. When dps-ing, it gears mostly for Str, w/ some Con and Rec, while you can switch to gear w/ more of a focus on Con when tanking.
