Public Event Chain: Enemy of the State

Hey hey people, Ziggy here.
I'm back at it with DMing a new arc that's the first of a 3-part chain revolving around corruption deeply rooted within Millennium City. The concerns of heroes, antiheroes, vigilantes and villains alike are brought to rise when a mystery unfolds after the deaths of numerous heroes in the line of duty. Different character types will be encouraged as the themes and impacts change over time.
While sign-up is optional, it would be nice if you can send the following information so I can better plan my writing for the upcoming event:
Character name
@ handle
Character age (This is more to keep unnecessary themes at bay at the appropriate times)
Powers
A small snippet of their backstory if you so wish
This will be a freeform event chain, meaning no third-party rolling or PvE/PvP, just good old-fashioned storytelling and in-channel emoting. All posts will take place in a privately-hosted channel where attendees will be removed after the arc's completion. To join the channel, right-click your CHAT tab on the top-left corner of your chat window and go to CHANNELS. An invite for the Public RP Event channel should be there by the time the event is ready to start once your information is sent.
A few small rules:
1. The usual business of no harassment or inappropriate comments. This may possibly have 18+ themes but please don't take that as an excuse to describe the squishiness of your gibbly bits, engage in erotic conduct or toss about derogatory words.
2. At the present, nobody has a blacklisting or any form of 'charge' against them, so I will not be discriminating on who attends. Please don't be dissuaded or mistreat another who might have a bad rep in your eyes. If they truly are so evil, they won't last long.
3. Power is expected with heroes, but don't use that as a reason to godmode or powergame. This event chain can either embrace extreme raw power or those of lesser strength with the right level of manipulative power, so the power scale is set to high with plenty of opportunity for weaker characters.
4. Please be patient. Not all events will be combat-based, and thus trying to force a fight may only lead to negative consequences IC, and possibly OOC if it's found to be intentionally derailing of the story.
5. You don't necessarily need to be at each event to impact it, and I can be contacted if you wish to change the course of things over time for in-between events if you can't make it at the given time.

What seems like a normal suppression job out in the streets of Millennium City becomes a point of tension after a string of hero deaths when in the line of duty. A lone gunman, armed to the teeth wreaks havoc for the sake of wanton destruction. Regardless, action must be taken.

Extra info: Antiheroes/criminals only! Stealth-based characters preferred!
Among the underworld, the elusive whispers of a profitable endeavour reaches the ears of crooks and antiheroes alike, from a possibly familiar name: Barghest.
A sizeable sum will be paid in cash to those who successfully infiltrate a private prison in the countryside where it is believed the Hero Hunters are being corralled; for what purpose is yet unknown. Information, evidence and data will be the choice of currency as not just heroes but gang members and villains also find themselves in body bags in light of recent developments.

In the WCOC car park, heroes and villains alike seem to be in a skirmish to protect the building from the assault of the Hero Hunters. Both sides seem to have met a mutual enemy in this intrusive adversary and seek to prevent them from succeeding in their unknown plan.

In the underworld of the city, a seedy contact by the name of Barghest begins reaching out:
"Dwellers in the shadows, your time of opportunity is at hand. With testimonies piling at the misdeeds of DA Thomas Stein in his part under the corrupt Senator Jeremy Briggs, the next step to undoing the Hero Hunter phenomenon is close. Sides have begun to shift and Stein is set to meet in a discreet location in the hopes of collecting what they believe will be material data for the next batch of Hero Hunters, but will instead serve as the stepping stone for their superior's downfall via their demise, or their capture."

With Senator Jeremy Briggs on the run as one of the ringleaders of the Hero Hunter attacks, he has been seeking asylum in Russia and has moved through Canada, back into Alaska. A group of heroes, allied villains and enforcers look to head him off on the road! It's time to end this!
