Help With A Possessed Doll Build

I just got the cleaver weapon skin and decided to create a character for the costume contest this Friday. It's a possessed doll but I can't seem to come up with an idea for the build.

I really want Invulnerability (it's a doll after all), Slash (to make use of the cleaver), Devour Essence (the doll sucks up souls), Void Shift w/ Emerging Nightmares adv (to apply fear), and Corrosive Pit (the doll pukes on everything). Plus I want some passive healing (CON w/ DEX) and a lot of cooldown redux and energy cost (INT).

Everything else can be changed.

Here's what I came up with:

Possessed Doll - Freeform (Hybrid)

Level 15: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 18: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)

Level 1: Slash (Rank 2, Serrated Blade)
Level 6: Devour Essence (Rank 2, Phlebotomist)
Level 8: Invulnerability (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Supernatural Power
Level 14: Void Shift (Emerging Nightmares)
Level 17: Form of the Tempest
Level 20: Reaper's Embrace (Rank 2, Rank 3)

Level 35: Tunneling

Constitution: Fuel My Fire (3/3)

Devices

I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks to everyone.

So, is it supposed to be a dps or tank build? Can't tell. What kind of content is it for? At the moment it's a low dps defensive hybrid build. Due note that Rebirth works against your concept as it starts to kill you after being activated.

Could do it as a hybrid but everyone will act like he's a leper.

I prob wouldn't get Con PSS (nor Protector spec) if this isn't a proper tank, but instead a hybrid-dps. Anyways, the build's main SB powers can't benefit from Supernatural Power. You may want to try Relentless (which scales w/ Rec) as the EU, or even Wild Thing (scales w/ End) or Steadfast if you won't be using DE that much. Vindicator spec is also a good paring w/ FotTempest, and I'd prob also pair that w/ Dex PSS and Dex Mastery here (though Str PSS w/ Physical Peak and Dex SS'd can also work). If you took Rebirth for its adv, then just keep in mind that Rebirth slowly drains your health when used. I may also get one of the travel powers to R3, and you could also just get the Ult to R3. Lastly, if keeping Brawler spec, then I'd max Setup for Reaper's Embrace here (Offensive Expertise is kinda weak, since AOs in general aren't that strong).

I was planning on this being a Hybrid role.

I mainly got Protector for Defensive Expertise because I use Resurgence a lot and I want as much cost reduction on that as possible. That's also why I got Intelligence.

To me, out of all of the self res, Rebirth was the only one that fit thematically. None of the other ones really fit.

I did make some changes that Flow suggested.

What do you all think of this?

Protector spec is still kinda iffy here, since it's not booting your dmg or crit rates. MSA can be rolled w/ the lunge or Conviction, sure, though you'll lose some dps in having to do that. The aim of prioritizing Resurgence's cd is a bit weird overall, since this isn't a tank build, but we're still not clear on what sort of combat-related content you'd want to do w/ it either, as Jaaz mentioned. Resurgence is a good cd, but most content is easy enough that you wouldn't need to focus on it, and esp when you have other healing options available.

Also, you'll want to max Flanking (or even Finishing Blow) over Glory of Battle, if keeping Brawler spec.

I do mostly solo and Alerts. The Resurgence is mainly for the Alerts.

I did make the change that you suggested and took off points in Flanking and maxed out Finishing Blow. I also took 2 points out of Glory of Battle.

Well, Flanking is stronger than the other options, though not when you're out solo or you're w/o a tank and you can't get behind mobs regularly, so it'll also kinda depend on the content you're prioritizing there. Either way, hope the build works out for you.

If it were me, I'd drop Intensity (since AOs dont help all that much anymore) and take Pestilence instead. I'd drop the ranks in Corrosive Pit and put them in Pestilence. Pestilence will boost both your Slashing and Toxic damage. That will give you the option to do much more damage (in melee role).

If you are only running alerts and leveling and stick with Invuln and have all that self healing your chances of dying and getting any use from Grave Consequences is going to be really small. Maybe see if you can find a Necrull's Skull device.

Instead of Vitality, another rank in your block might be more useful if you like survivability.

    Instead of Protector:
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
