Help with a Trap Jaw homage build from He-Man

benoitseanbenoitsean Posts: 322 Arc User
I want to create a character like Trap Jaw from He-Man. If anyone is unfamiliar with the character I will explain:

Trap Jaw is equipped with a mechanical arm that can be fitted with many attachments; while there was a dozen or so of these exchangeable weapons in the cartoon, the action figure only had three, a hook, claw, and blaster. He also has a powerful prosthetic jaw that allows him to bite through metal.

I would like to interchange his arm to equip the hook, claw, and blaster. I know I can do this with costume changes but I want help figuring out what abilities to use with each costume change. I want to switch between each arm with the appropriate abilities corrasponding with that arm. I don't think I need to use dual passives but if I do then that's fine. I do have the Imaginary Melee Weapons skins if that helps.

Also if you can explain to me which abilities go with which arm (whether it be the hook, claw, or blaster). That way I can set it up as I'm leveling.

I really appreciate the help. Thank you.

This isn't going to be a great fit for CO's systems. Regardless, I guess you could use chain powers for the hook arm, a basic one-handed blast (like Force Blast, Ice Blast, or Rocket Punch) for the blaster arm, and FC or Bestial for the claw arm (also w/ Bite or Thrash, ofc). Here's an example build:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
    v3.45:38

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Dexterity (Primary)
    Level 10: Recovery (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Chiller (Dex: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 8, End: 10)
Level 6: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
    Level 9: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 12: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 15: Accurate (Dex: 5, End: 5)
    Level 18: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 21: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Clobber
Level 1: Barbed Chain (Rank 2, Sever)
Level 6: Lacerating Cyclone (Rank 2, Vortex Technique)
Level 8: Night Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Form of the Tempest
    Level 14: Relentless
    Level 17: Thrash (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 20: Resurgence
    Level 23: Viper's Fangs (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 26: Dragon's Claws (Rank 2, Dragon Rush)
Level 29: Force Blast (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 32: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35: Antagonize (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Fiery Embrace
    Adv. Points: 35/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Dexterity: Combat Training (3/3)
    Dexterity: Gear Utilization (2/3)
    Dexterity: Deadly Aim (3/3)
    Dexterity: Expose Weakness (2/2)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (2/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

For the claw arm, you can use VFangs as a basic cleave/AoE and for applying Shredded, while charged DC can be your main single-target attack, and Thrash can also be thrown in for some extra healing. For the hook arm, Lacerating Cyclone is the main AoE, Barbed Chain can apply (and refresh) bleeds & Shredded on single-targets, and you can lean more into Thrash as your main single-target attack (since Barbed Chain's dps isn't that great by itself). Due to CO not facilitating melee + ranged mixes that well, the blaster arm is going to be pretty limited, but you can still use Force Blast for it (won't proc the EU w/o a Wound effect up, but most blasts are pretty cheap anyways). Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Rec and Con (and some extra cost discount on gear).
