  When you say you aren't getting credit, is that for the event daily mission or are you seeing a lower number on the scoreboard?

  You also only get credit for the mission once per 20 hours. In other words, daily.
  
  So, to get your 5 kills it would take 5 days.

  I'm referring to the daily mission. I would only get credit for killing the Colossus once. Even if I killed 3. When I think of a "daily mission". I think the mission can be completed 1x per day. Not 1 kill in a day with a list of other kills that must be completed.

  So it sounds like what @stratluver said. If you check out the Nightmare Costume: Wooden Mask mission in your active mission log, it mentions "Complete the Shadow of the Colossus Mission 5 times". It will take 5 days/daily missions.
  
  If you have Drifter Salvage and you just want the reward faster, there an option to purchase it in the event store under the Drifter Currency Exchange section. Every time you complete one of the daily missions the cost goes down.
