Psychokinetic build

I'm gonna level with you guys... I had no idea what I was doing here. But I do know for a fact that I'm going for a psychokinetic build(i.e. ranged TK without melee powers)

    If you just want a ranged TK dps build (assuming you mean an FF build and not the Psychokinetic AT), then here's a basic one:

    The last 2-3 powers can be w/e ya want.

    Alternates between TK Strike and charged TK Lance for single-target dps, while TK Barrage can be your main AoE attack. TK Maelstrom can provide some extra burst AoE dmg (and an AoE stun), as well as quickly give you Ego Leech stacks in AoE. Also, TK Burst could be taken instead of TK Barrage as the main AoE here (Burst hits in a larger area, but doesn't have Barrage's long range). Regardless, the build gears mostly for Dex (for Mental Precision), w/ some Con and Rec (and some cost discount on gear).

    If you can unlock Lance Rain from the OSV system that could be your last power.

    Once I buckled down to unlock it and then had it I was glad I bit the bullet. But I also have 200+ pieces of OSV gear, so what's one more grind ;) ?

    Go with EGO PSS with DEX SS gearing for DEX. Lose burst, choke, telekinesis, and emphatic.

    If you plan on grinding for the Justice set, you could look at reversing the points I put into Follow Through and 6th Sense. If not, I find this spread pays off better vs Cosmics. Antagonize is my shield because Ape lava annoys the F out of me. Eldritch shield is nice too though. TK shield is better for melee than ranged builds. Once you get some ego leech going, your rotation will be fully charged Lance > TK Strike x3. TK Maelstrom is kinda handy to have while levelling but once you have better gear and Mental Impact it's totally optional.

    ^ Yea, that's a good build. Pretty much what I'd expect from a ranged TK dps looking to optimize dmg a bit more.

  • Sorry to Nerco this threat, in terms of TK Range and Melee, what whuold be arguably the best one?


    Since I've turned to Melee, I've never been able to go back lol.

    Best for what? They are both quite strong for being either ranged or melee dps. It should largely just come down to the play-style you want for that character (melee vs. ranged), and/or to which is more fitting for the character's concept.

    DPS wise, that what I meant, but thanks.

    I always find Range powers (with the exception of Dual Pistols) to be weak somehow, but that may be down to playstyle, I did have a TK Range building, but I seem to find that TK Burst is a little slow to cast.

    Eh, you seem to have many different characters, so you can always just have at least one dedicated ranged TK build on one character and at least one dedicated melee TK build on another, and just play either of them to your own fancy. They should both be good at their primary role, either way.

    (and you can always switch to TK Barrage if you want a ranged TK AoE alternative; it has a smaller AoE radius, but longer reach and is channeled instead of charged; TK Maelstrom is also a good AoE for either setup, but is on a cd)
