Can Unarmed MA and Fire work together?

I had an idea for a new build, combining Unarmed MA with some Fire, since I knew Unarmed MA had a lot of fire themed stuff in it. However, after taking a closer look, I see only One Hundred Hands can apply an actual Fire effect. All other attacks apply "Chi Flame" which, I think, does dimensional damage, not actual fire damage. So I'm just curious if that's correct, and if it's possible to have some symmetry in the two power sets. The idea was to focus primarily on Unarmed MA, with some of the more melee focused Fire abilities added in.

    With invisible weapons Sterga Lawless made a pretty cool fiery hands build awhile back. It wont top DPS charts but it is fun, you'll need invisible weapons though. Here is the build she updated for me:

    Yea, most of Unarmed doesn't actually deal w/ Fire dmg, and Chi Flame is indeed Dimensional dmg instead. Here's an alternative build, though, which uses Unarmed for its basic attacks, and has a few Fire-based powers in there as well:

    The open power slot can be w/e ya want.

    If you can justify taking it, the fire grenade is quite useful here to help put up CFlames (for TReverb) and No Quarter (for both a Crushing and Fire dmg debuff). Otherwise, 100Hands can be the main AoE attack, while charges of DU can be used for single-targets. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and End (and some cost discount on gear).

    Thank you both. Flow's build is closer to what I had originally started doing, but I'm going to try the "Flaming Fist" out sometime as well, on a different character.

    Both of those builds can work fine, at least for a Hybrid-dps approach. Even though it's not as efficient as the 1st build (which is mostly a normal Unarmed build), I think I like the 2nd build from a thematic standpoint more. Fire Breath is somewhat redundant w/ 100Hands as an AoE, but it can be nice to have a spamable ranged AoE option that also reinforces a more distinct theme.
