Hybrid Build & Experimental Build (Stormrider & Majesty Envoy)

So, back once more with another build, the main Hybrid build will be filling in the shoes that I tired with TK Blades and Support but didn't work out and the other build is more of a Experimental Build.

The Experimental Build or "Stormrider" (for a fancy name) is based of the actual XCOM 2 class from the Workshop, cuz it looks cool, but rather then just useing a normal blade, I kinda wanted to add my own spice to it. TK Blades (Dual or Single, what ever I pick) with Electric mix, now the reason why this is a Experimental Build cuz I do not know how well it will work, given the passive will not add any extra damage to Electric Damage, so it may not work.

But nevertheless, this is what I have so far:

TK Blades as the main DPS (same as my other TK build) with Mental Storm/Lighting Strike & Sparkstrom. Mental Storm for the obvious reason, Stun/Stress and it's still "Lighting" and Lighting Strike for my Lunge, but I did pick Sparkstrom w/ Adv as a AoE like effect. Rest of the build is just a copy and paste, Convi/Resruge, etc.

Likewise if Sparkstrom is too much to have on or has a high cost to it, etc, Then I can just remove it to something else, like Lighting Ball and yes Red Lighting.

As for the Hybrid Build:

So TK Range and Support, but staying in the Hybrid Role, I've gone for AoPM as it's quite a decent support passive (but I can always go back to Seraphim for the extra healing). I got my main focus of DPS with TK Strike /w Stress and TK Barrage /w Dazzle. An background heal for myself and allies and a direct heal being Empathetic Healing and Dark Pact for my Ally Rez and I have a Self-Rez.

The rest are just the same as any other TK Build with the Unlock/Form/Resruge and Ult.

You know, you don't have to keep sticking to the Mentalist frameworks. You could more easily just mix, say, Laser Sword w/ Elec powers, and this would also give you more build variety overall. For example:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
    v3.44:37

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Dexterity (Primary)
    Level 10: Endurance (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Chiller (Dex: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 8, End: 10)
    Level 6: Accurate (Dex: 5, End: 5)
Level 9: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
    Level 12: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 18: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 21: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Electric Bolt
Level 1: Lightspeed Strike (Rank 2, Particle Acceleration)
Level 6: Sparkstorm (Rank 2, Electric Personality)
Level 8: Electric Form (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Form of the Tempest
    Level 14: Ball Lightning (Triplicity)
    Level 17: Particle Wave (Illuminate)
    Level 20: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 23: Luminescent Slash (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 26: Electrical Siphon (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Lightning Strike
Level 32: Electric Shield (Rank 2)
    Level 35:
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 29/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Dexterity: Combat Training (3/3)
    Dexterity: Gear Utilization (2/3)
    Dexterity: Deadly Aim (3/3)
    Dexterity: Expose Weakness (2/2)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (2/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

Keeps up Ball Lit and Sparkstorm, while using Lightspeed Strike as a basic AoE filler, and Lume Slash as basic single-target filler (still using Lightspeed on single-targets to put up and refresh Disintegrate). Particle Wave can also help group up enemies in front of you. If you wanted to add something like MStorm for theme, then you could, though you obv don't need it for CC or debuffing here. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and End/Rec (and some cost discount on gear).

    -
Otherwise, you can always just use Night Warrior as the dps passive if you insist on mixing TK Blades and Elec.

    --

For the TK Support build, I'd def not use the Hybrid role when playing w/ allies, since that severely weakens AoPM's aura for them (being Hybrid when out solo is fine, though). I'd also def consider changing the toggle/form to Shadow Manifest, since that scales w/ Pres, and you want high Pres when using an aura like AoPM anyways. Also, nix Mind Control and get a decent single-target attack like TK Lance (your single-target dps will be pretty low w/o it). You'd prob also want the Dependency adv on TK Barrage, since this is a Support. I may also trade Empathic Healing w/ Psionic Helaing, just cause it can reach >50ft (or you can just use Iniquity). I may also get another CC power (like Ego Sleep or MStorm) and get Sentinel Mastery for it.

If you did want to play as a Hybrid (for w/e reason), then maybe just go back to Seraphim, cause its aura affect isn't that strong anyways. Here's an example of that:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Hybrid)
    v3.44:37

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Presence (Primary)
    Level 10: Recovery (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Witch (Con: 10, Int: 8, Pre: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Lasting Impression (Pre: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 9: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 12: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Shrug It Off (Con: 5, Pre: 5)
    Level 18: Finesse (Dex: 5, Pre: 5)
    Level 21: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Kinetic Darts
Level 1: Telekinetic Strike (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 6: Telekinetic Reverberation
    Level 8: Shadow Manifestation
    Level 11: Seraphim (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 14: Telekinetic Barrage (Dazzle, Instill Doubt)
Level 17: Conviction (Rank 2, Reverence)
Level 20: Telekinetic Lance (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Mental Storm (Rank 2)
    Level 26: Iniquity (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 32: Dark Pact (Rank 2, More Souls!)
Level 35: Telekinetic Shield (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Fiery Embrace
    Adv. Points: 36/36

    Travel Powers
Level 6: Bubble Flight (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Presence: Repurpose (3/3)
    Presence: Selfless Ally (2/2)
    Presence: Moment of Glory (2/3)
    Presence: Force of Will (1/2)
    Presence: Vulnerability (2/2)
    Sentinel: Caregiver (3/3)
    Sentinel: Sentinel Aura (3/3)
    Sentinel: Moment of Need (2/3)
    Sentinel: Wither (2/2)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Sentinel Mastery (1/1)

(get the Stress adv on MStorm instead of R2)

You'll still have some decent support potential w/ direct ally healing, background healing, and rezes. MStorm and TK Barrage's CC effects can put up Wither and Sentinel Mastery, while MStorm can also put up Pres PSS' Vuln. It alternates between TK Strike and TK Lance for single-target dps, while using TK Barrage for AoE, and taps of MStorm in either case. Gears mostly for Pres, w/ some Rec and Con (and some cost discount on gear).

TK Strike/Barrage & Lance are my main source of damage, Mental Storm & Dazzle for my Stun Porc and Mental Leech for the Dependency, ally Rez and Self Rez, with one power left.

Well, TK Barrage can also provide Dependency w/ its adv, but I guess MLeech is fine to take for that (and it lets you get R2 of TK Barrage). And yea, that extra power slot should go to TK Reverb.

The alternative version of the build is a bit weird- it's less dps on TK Barrage and w/ not having a source of Stress (which you can get w/ TK Strike), but you also have Mental Impact in there, and also w/ Pres Mastery instead. I guess it is more convenient to heal yourself w/ Conviction than cast a normal heal like Psionic, but I think the 1st build variant is better overall- since Sentinel Mastery can also help heal you in the background, and you still have Psionic Healing (on self), Resurgence, and health packs to fall back on (as well as a self-res, and some passive healing effects). If you still wanted Conviction in the build then I guess you could drop MLeech (in the 1st build) for it and put Dependency back on TK Barrage, but it's up to you.

Yeah I did have Dependency as well but I don't know how much DPS I do lose with getting both Advs on TK Barrage, as it's more like a utility power then anything so that's why the first build has R2/w Dazzle and Mental Storm useing the "Stress" Buff and MLeech for the Dependency. As for the alt build, that's strange, cuz I recall adding Stress to the TK Strike but yes that should always be there.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well, the alt build was to try leave one power open for whatever I decided, but I forgot about Telekinetic Reverberation.

Well, the alt build that you posted has TK Reverb in it and also an open power slot (and no Sentinel Mastery), and you said that you made it cause you wanted more of a self-heal focus, so I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Did you mean the 1st variant of the build instead?

Sorry for the delay, got caught up with something!, but yes I am playing with the previous two builds!, My TK Blades (Draggon) is doing quite well, better with the small changes I made, the Sentinel Mascheri does work quite well, but I may switch back to Dex Mascheri just to put out way more damage and keep either Sentry or Sentinel Specs, for the self-support, what ever I decide to do. More Healing or More DR.

As for the TK/TP Build, it was just a solo TP build, but TP is far too chunky for me as a solid tree, so mixing it up a bit was good, but this New Hybrid Build I'm working on, hopefully will work out and be a good mix.

Sorry for the confusion, what I was trying to do say was that: I was trying to leave a open spot on the 1st build variant, but I forgot to add TK Reverb when I was doing the build (that originally) left out a power slot, that was just my error.

Only the 2nd build has TK Reverb but a free power slot left, as it was less focusing on the Sentinel Mastery, but as I learnt, Sentinel Mastery is much stronger then Pres.

No problem, I understand. And yea, I guess in the end we both still agree that the 1st variant of the build is probably the better one to go with atm.

    Hey, so I'm alive!

So after some thinking and stress testing I noticed that due to my play-style, I'm not really good with Support classes, so I'll focus on the Stromrider Build for now, however I will keep the build for other uses, sorry about this.

After all, I am a guy who loves DPS over everything else and Mind Control

That's fine; at least you experimented around and found out a bit more about your own preferences going forward. Regardless, if you're using your original 'Stormrider' build and not my version (w/ Laser Sword and Elec), then I'll just reiterate that you may want to switch to using NW as the passive if mixing some Elec attacks w/ TK ones.

  • So, I' keeping the Stormrider build on the back-burner for now, as I plan to use it for another character, but for now I have normal TK power set for another OC, to replace my Single Blade, I really love the TK set of how strong they can be. However to mix it up a little bit, so it's not a bland copy of my other, I'm thinking to mix Chi with it. (should not be a issue as ID Blade, helps with Chi)

Below is the normal TK build, but I can do something different with the build below this one.

Build is your 101 TK Build with one power to spare, both trees have the Dex Mastray, but with the Sentinel Tree to help boost my Healing from Chi Resurge (Or replaced by Conviction)

I prob wouldn't get Sentinel spec on a (mostly) dps build if it's not going to take advantage of Sentinel Mastery. Sentinel Aura can be okay, I guess (as can Wither), but it won't be that strong as a dps unit, and you'd give up a fair amount of personal dps for the spec. Also, ID Mastery can boost the Dimensional dmg from some Unarmed powers, but it won't apply to the Crushing dmg portion (and many times that is the primary portion). You can still mix Unarmed w/ TK, but I'd prob use WotW, Unstoppable, or NW as the passive then, and also maybe switch to FotTempest as the toggle/form.

Open Palm Strike is kinda iffy as a power here; its AoE is too narrow for it to be a great AoE attack, it innately KBs (unelss you get its pull-in adv), and its single-target dps is lower than other powers for that option (and is redundant w/ Ego Weaponry + EBA here). If you want an AoE pull-in attack that has much wider coverage, then I'd prob consider getting TK Wave w/ its knock-in adv. I'd also get 2/2 in Expose Weakness if using Dex PSS, and trade End SS for Rec SS if using TK Reverb. Here's an example edit of the 2nd version of the build:

It does the usual thing of alternating between Ego Weaponry and EBA for single targets. Charged DK can be used as a nice pbAoE that also stuns, and TW Wave can help group up mobs in front of you for it (and/or for Ego Weaponry). DK won't proc TK Reverb, but it does have Rush to help make up for that. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and Rec (and some cost discount on gear).

I went for Sentinel Spec to boost the Conviction or Bountiful Chi Resurgence, prior to what you mentioned with both Sentry and Sentinel Tree.

As I think that Moment of Need & Eternal Spring should boost Conviction when tapping it, or boost the "tick" with Bountiful Chi Resurgence, tho I never used BCR so I don't know how strong it is as a heal, given it drops DPS 10%.
    flowcyto wrote: »
Yes to both Reinforce and Fortify procing then (also, it seems as if melee AoEs like Ego Weaponry actually can also proc both, but this may be a bug; ranged AoE crits can't proc Reinforce). Moment of Need isn't a proc, it just increases a heal's overall crit chance (assuming the heal can crit), but yes, both it and Eternal Spring can work w/ Conviction (since it can crit).

So, that what my plan is, as my other TK build is useing the Sentry Build, for the Reinforce and Fortify, as with testing it does Porc from Ego Weapons and will get porc via my Conviction.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking with ID Mastery that the crushing damage won't do much, but I can use WotW/Unstoppable or NW, tho not sure what will be stronger for DPS wise. Rest of the powers look good tho, I'll see what I can do.

Eh, it's not really worth it to take Sentinel just to boost a self-heal as a dps unit. Better to just get more dmg to kill things faster than to get minor bonuses to one your self-heals, imo. BCR also cannot crit, so any crit-related healing boost won't apply to it anyways. And although Conviction crits can be nice, it's still a pretty small bonus overall for a dps unit, and is unreliable besides. Now, if you are taking Sentinel (or Sentry) for other support-related bonuses, like its Mastery, the healing aura, Wither, Torment, or to boost performance as a proper Healer build, etc.. then it can be fine, but it also depends on what your priorities are for the build, since you are always giving up some other benefits via not taking a different spec.

Fair enough, I was hoping that if I used the Sentry Tree on my -other- TK Build that I'd have some decent protection on top of my Raw DPS, as Ego Weapons does seem to proc from it. But I can see why taking Sentinel on a DPS won't much to powers like Conviction alone.

As for the builds above itself: I'll look into both and see what I can do, as the TK-MA feels quite nice to use, if I can try boost Chi a lot more, sorry this takes so long I've been sorting 2 new OCs out and each new mixed build I get, gives new ideas how to make older builds better. (tho that is a good thing!)

Love the build, sadly I don't have Lance Rain, as that power is quite grindy to farm.

Eh, it's ONLY(!) 10,000 tokens. You can knock that out in less than a month, then you have it unlocked forever and you will be one of the cool kids. ALso, so much more useful than Mind Contorl ;)

Ok, so after some mental fighting of what to use and what to pick and what not to use for this build I finally ultimately decided to go with Dual Blades with a mix of Lighting (Kinda). (I just wish we had auras on our actual weapons, like the old days, where we fire/lighting as elemental attacks, but rip them days!). But I'll settle with the Auras we have today.

This is what I got for the build so far: Standard loadout for Dual Blades build, Blade Tempest/WotW/BCF and Dragon's Warth, with Ult. I've gone for Electric Shield and Lighting Strike for my "Lighting" powers, tho I am not sure if it be worth getting Sparkstorm/w Adv or not. (I don't think anyway). Two powers left open for whatever, but I am thinking another heal (Convi) or so. No worry no mind control on this. (Maybe Lighting Ball?)

P,S: If you are curious where this build came from, I tired to replicate "Teshin" from Warframe, with his Dual Blades (my only sang is with the elemental stuff, but auras can do that for me) and as for the blade, useing the newest one from the lockbot the new Katna (cuz it looks cool and makes me think of a blade that can switch modes, given the little lights)

Well, Sparkstorm's toggle could still be useful for the build, but it's not too important for it either if you can satisfy the theme in other ways. Ball Lit could also work, and with or w/o Sparkstorm. I guess it just comes down to whether you're okay w/ the play-style of keeping Sparkstorm's toggle (and Ball Lit) refreshed and/or if you feel the need to have it for the look/theme. Here's an example version w/o that playstyle that's more DB-focused, but still w/ some Elec powers for various accessory functions:

Do you actually want electricity powers or just sparky-electrical power effects? Since this is a unarmed MA build you could just grab some electric hand and foot auras and put them in slots that only are active in combat. Could also add in Electric Speed.

Yeah. I feel that Spark storm is a bit strange to use, so I may not end up useing it, but this is what I ended up going with

Yup, will grab myself some Auras too, but kinda both, mostly just electricity power, like a shield and lunge, with shield will do fine as well, even EB as it too.

Alright, that build looks pretty decent, although you may want to get the Rush adv on Dragon's Wrath if you have energy issues when using it heavily (can take a rank from Elec Sheath, the Ult, Particle Smash, Elec Shield, and/or BCR if you need more free adv points).
