Indepedence Day needs more Omph

The Indepedence Day event could use some sprucing up. All it entrails is the usual run-around errand, an alert, and a couple complete mission x, y times to unlock costume z. Other events like Nightmare Invasion, Snake Gulch, the Anniversary, Halloween, Christmas all have a kind of boss fight as the culmination. Maybe, over the next year the devs could add something a little more special for the final week?
Keeping in mind the extremley limited resources the game has, and that those resources also need to go to much needed power revamps and the like, what might be some "easy" thing that reuses some exisiting resources that the devs could add to give the 2nd week some more zing? E.g. maybe Grond likes the loud noises and sparklies that go along with the Anniversary fireworks and has decided to set off a nuke at some location (1 of 3-5 possible locations?) in MC and the heroes have to stop him before we get an earth-shattering kaboom. Please throw in some other ideas. I'm sure the creative minds around here can come up with some other realstic possibilities.

A different open world boss would spawn at different points along the path. We would need to defeat the boss before the parade gets to that point.
If the parade reaches Ren Cen, we get a fireworks show.
Just a random thought, lol
Two teams would need to separate them both and take them out Cosmic style.
