PISTOL DPS + dodge mechanics (CYBERPUNK John Wick)

lmcnutrilmcnutri Posts: 20 Arc User
Morning Pros!

Just a noob idea that I would like to know if it would be a viable Endgame Cosmic Dps with a high edge survivability mechanics settled by dodge.

As the some melee forms works with dex (and increasing damage + dodge side) and even composure becoming an interesting dodge dps ranged passive and the form sharpshooter scaled with dex stacks. And that even the pistols ult adds a dodge mechanic.

My build challenge is, how to make a full dps (with dodge as defensive layer instead of just deffense) usin pistols as core theme:

1. Considering the melee possibility using bullet ballet in combo with blades-knife? (and the ranged lead tempest just for aoe trash cleanse)

2. Or a full ranged hdps build using TGM as main atk.

I know there's already thousands of TGM endgame dps build but I'm just thinking about something different for the sake of fun, to avoid boredom, to fit a theme (cyberpunk John Wick - THATS WHY the bullet ballet there <3), and to feed the "exoticness" lmao.

P.s. if possible I would like to work with dex stack (to avoid the need of swap mods lmao)

Tyvm in advance!

p.s.2. Why dodge, bcoz on Kode Prime I have a justice dodge gear / dodge mods / saved in my bank from my time dodge tankin last year and got a dodge chest purple piece secondary from a drop yesterday on teleios.

So it could perfectly swap the defensive-hp versions of chest primary/secondary to help the build work.

Dodge is rng based, so it may not be great to rely on when you aren't taking constant, smaller-medium sized hits. I wouldn't generally recommend it over maxHP and Defense for a dps unit. You'll also still want to block dangerous mechanics, whether you happen to dodge them or not.

That said, you can still do fine as a Muni dps when using Composure, at least. It won't be as good for dps as Targeting Computer is to a ranged Muni build, though. Dodge-boosting specs will generally come at the expense of doing more dps as well. You can also guarantee dodging via using Masterful Dodge, but you'll prob want Resurgence as the AD instead.

Since Targeting Comp won't boost Bullet Ballet, but Composure will, maybe make it a BB-based melee build and save the TGM build for a different hero? Here's an example build:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
    v3.44:36

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Dexterity (Secondary)
    Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Predator (Str: 10, Dex: 10, Con: 8, Rec: 10)
    Level 6: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 9: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 12: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
Level 15: Martial Focus (Str: 5, Dex: 5)
    Level 18: Accurate (Dex: 5, End: 5)
    Level 21: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Gunslinger
Level 1: Burst Shot (Taking Names)
    Level 6: Composure (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 8: Form of the Tempest
Level 11: Bullet Ballet (Rank 2, Not Without Incident)
    Level 14: Killer Instinct
    Level 17: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 20: Lead Tempest (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Mini Mines (Stim Pack)
Level 26: Execution Shot (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Parry (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 32:
    Level 35:
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 26/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Overpower (3/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (2/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (2/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (3/3)
    Mastery: Warden Mastery (1/1)

The last 3 powers can be w/e ya want.

Taps of Burst Shot can put up (and refresh) the AP debuff and Furious, while Bullet Ballet is your main attack otherwise. I also included Lead Tempest for an easy trash-clearing power. Execution Shot can be used on low-health targets for a burst of dmg, and Mini Mines can be activated at any time to give you another self-heal. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Rec.

Dex or Ego PSS could prob also work out here (not getting the 2nd tier dodge/avoid options in Dex PSS, though, since you don't really want to pass over Expose Weakness and Deadly Aim as a dps). Dex PSS w/ Rec SS means your 3rd SS is more of a wildcard, so that could be nice if you wanted something like Con SS for the health boost. STR/Dex/Con could prob also work, assuming you're fine enough on energy to not need Rec SS.

Yea, although TKicks is fine if you want a situational dodge buff in Lithe, keep in mind that Parry's Elusive Monk will lower your base dmg while its slotted. I'd prob also take FotTempest over Sharpshooter here, since Sharpshooter doesn't boost melee dmg by as much as a melee dps toggle like FotT.

Mb on Sharpshooter. That was from an earlier version I was playing with. I put the TK and Elusive Monk in there to play to the OP's desire for a layer of dodginess.
