Force Tank 2021

jaazaniah1jaazaniah1 Posts: 5,431 Arc User
We all know that Force is going to get revamped in the next week or so, right? ;) I recently picked up a Cosmic body aura relatively cheap and thought it was time to start leveling a force tank that would look cool with that aura, cuz having 13 tanks currently is an unlucky number and that revamp is right around the corner. Here's the work in progress (certainly some things will change with that soon to be released revamp). It's at least something to get me going.

Anyone tried Gravitic Ripple? I mostly have it in there because I've never used it before.

Because the pace of revamps has slowed to an infant snail's pace of late. Only the devs know if they will ever do another revamp, which one is next and when it will happen. Obviously I am pushing for Force to be next out and in an expeditious fashion.

Humm alright, tho to be fair, the new "Sidekick" from that Power Glove thing, DOES look like it has new Gad and Force powers, so maybe we'll get lucky.

Grav Ripple looks pretty good from testing. Prob don't see it as much since you have to farm tokens to get it, and people may be buying other things. Keep in mind that Conc also won't trigger on Crushing Wave unless you are targeting something >25ft out w/ it. That said, the build can work atm, as long as you have a handle on energy. I guess we'll just have to wait and see about that Force revamp.

I am only now grinding for Gravitic Ripple, so glad to hear that it may be useful. Here's hoping that the Force revamp will have a new form that procs stacks based on knocks, rather than range or charge status.

I still hope for some force adjustments, force in general is in an odd place without Force Cascade spam. I am glad I have happily done farming the Onslaught abilities a few months ago, never going to touch it for a while now, ugh. Only things I kinda would still need to do is Gold Recon Powers, but I am not really the end content guy and not a fan of cosmic farming, I still wish there would be smaller easier ways to earn it slowly at least. QWZ i also not like honestly as well. I wish UNITY would give some as an end reward at least considering how time-consuming it is.

Heh. I've done OSV sets on 70 characters so far. The grind continues.

I'm not sure how strictly you want to stay within the Force set, but Hurl (Hard Fall, Didn't See That Coming) is very nice for MSA Force Cascade builds.

I prefer to squeeze in secondary Challenge on tank builds. Force Eruption would fit the bill, if you want to stay in-set.

Power Conversion is also worth considering, for when you want to lead with a Cascade.

Well, this is going to be a galactic warrior with cosmic body aura and high tech costume bits, so no throwing rocks. I am absolutely confident that the impending Force revamp will give FB a debuff useable with FC. Otherwise, why do the Revamp?

Won't it be nice when the revamp puts Challenge in as an adv on Gravitic Ripple? Nice to have another option other than FE.

PC is definitely an option. Maybe instead of CoD. Still theory-crafting. PTS testing will be this weekend.

Going to Necro my own thread here ;)

Still playing around with an FC tank (here's hoping that the Force revamp will see the Gravitar mods appear in the scr/gcr vendor!)

I decided to employ a few powers that I haven't used before: Vicious Descent, Bad Sector and Gravitic Ripple (still want Challenge on that one). Also going to try End PSS so I can fully charge FC. With Distinguished Gear he's at 17,000+ HP, has Defiance at 23/stack and base Defense of 385. Should be good enough.

It looks pretty good overall, considering that you're still working w/ Force before any revamp to it. Vicious Descent is a bit of a weird pick for the build, but I guess most bosses are gonna be in your face anyways.

Yes, VD descent was to try something new and I've also found that a lunge can be useful for tanks in some contexts. Gravitic Ripple and Fractal Aegis look like they should be good for grabbing aggro across a fairy wide area.

Revival of an old thread. Questioning whether anything came of this?

He turned out to be a very solid tank. Able to handle all endgame content that I do (I don't do TT).

This is the final iteration (until Force revamp, that is).
