I'm trying to come up with a concept of a character named
Poltergeist who can transform from a human into a ghost at will (like Danny Phantom from the Nickelodeon cartoon).
I really want him to be a dual build
(human form: hybrid role; ghost form: ranged role). The basic ghost powers I want to incorporate is
intangibility, invisibility, flight, telekinesis, teleportation, overshadowing (mind control), and Spectral Body Manipulation with the standard ghost attributes which are
superhuman strength, durability, healing factor, speed, and agility. Being half ghost he can use some of his ghost powers in human form but when he transforms in to his ghost form he can use all of his powers. He can also create energy shields to block or withstand attacks.
This is kind of what I want in this build.

All of the abilities that I chose I feel are ghost like in one form or another. I don't know if Night Warrior works in ranged role. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Thank you in advance.

You at least want one solid single-target attack and one decent AoE. You could still keep a few of the more thematic powers, but I wouldn't load up on too many of them. A Darkness or Infernal base would prob work fine here. For example, w/ Darkness:

Though they prob aren't that great in practice, I kept in Telekinesis and Mind Control for the theme. For single-targets, it can use SBlast to put up (and refresh) Fear and Devoid, while ERuin is your main attack (you can also throw Soul Vortex in there). AoE can mostly be done w/ SEmbrace and Soul Vortex. Also, the last adv point could go into one of your travel powers. This build gears mostly for Ego, w/ some Con and Rec.

I could not fit in ALL of the powers (didnt try to fit in mind control for example) but kept the basic, early -stage Danny theme/powers, using the Toxic powers as teh base, added sonic scream, TK shield, you get the picture. I don't claim this is uber-optimized or all-powerful, (in early version/levels, I had to rely on the drain power quite a bit) but he worked out quite well for me,

Ofc, it's still not that optimal of a build, but it should be more functional at any range. For melee, you can use DE for single-targets and 100hands for AoE. For ranged, you can use IBlast for single-targets and Hyper Voice for AoE. In either case, you'll want to throw in the Wisp for debuffs and to roll Conjuring. You can also throw Ebon Rift in there as well. I dropped the AO since it's not going to be boosting dmg by that much at r1, though you could add it back in somewhere, if desired (maybe instead of the threat wipe or self-res). You can use either the Melee DPS role or the Ranged DPS role here, depending on which aspect you want to prioritize. Regardless, it gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and Int.
