You're waiting for an alert. 5m, 10m, 15m, you minimize to check out google search, a faq, some kitty videos. While checking back occasionally you find that the alert popped while you were doing that and vwoops. Time to start again.
Please add a function to notify the long waiters who are finding things to stave off bordom while waiting that their alert has popped and is ready.
Flashing taskbar. A popup when minimized. SOMETHING.

Some sound also would be nice, since window can be in the way like doing AH stuff and accidentally clicking it in the background, letting timer tick or so.
While we at it maybe not change it always when a group was found only to switch to the next alert again, so you also have to start new? Expand alert times or let them only switch after a certain run was made by people, this way Pyramid Power as example would not be ignored at least. Since you clearly not want to fix this also.
I really wish we had more people to develop and not this skeleton crew only favoring certain friends or players.
