Help with a Little Red Riding Hood/Werewolf build (dual personalities)

benoitseanbenoitsean Posts: 322 Arc User
I want to create a dual role build with Little Red Riding Hood who transforms into a werewolf (big bad wolf). I would go from Little Red Riding Hood to full-on Werewolf mode in a flash. I have an idea on how the build should go.

I was thinking maybe something like this:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Any / Multiple)
v3.44:36

Super Stats
Level 6: Constitution (Primary)
Level 10: Presence (Secondary)
Level 15: Dexterity (Secondary)

Talents
Level 1: The Savage (Str: 10, Dex: 8, Con: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Survival Training (Dex: 3, Con: 3, Pre: 3, Rec: 2, End: 2)
Level 9: Lasting Impression (Pre: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 12: Finesse (Dex: 5, Pre: 5)
Level 15: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 18: Body and Mind (Str: 5, Int: 5)
Level 21: Shrug It Off (Con: 5, Pre: 5)

Powers
Level 1: Radiance
Level 1: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
Level 6: Regeneration (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 8: Pounce (Nailed to the Ground)
Level 11: Devour Essence (Rank 2, Phlebotomist, Challenge!)
Level 14: Celestial Conduit (Rank 2, Serenity)
Level 17: Compassion
Level 20: Massacre (Rank 2, Bloody Mess)
Level 23: Ritual of Radiant Summoning (Rank 2, Unbound Ritual)
Level 26: Resurgence
Level 29: Command Animals (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 32: Redemption (Salvation)
Level 35: Howl (Make them Tremble, Intimidating Force)
Level 38: Rebirth
Adv. Points: 36/36

Travel Powers
Level 6: Acrobatics
Level 35: Ninja Leaves

Specializations
Constitution: Fuel My Fire (3/3)
Constitution: Tough (3/3)
Constitution: Resilient (2/2)
Constitution: Armored (2/2)
Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
Warden: Slaughter (2/3)
Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
Sentinel: Eternal Spring (2/2)
Sentinel: Sentinel Aura (3/3)
Sentinel: Moment of Need (3/3)
Sentinel: Genesis (2/2)
Mastery: Constitution Mastery (1/1)

Devices

Both roles would use Regeneration, Radiance, Rebirth, & Resurgence

Little Red Riding Hood Mode: (Role: Hybrid)
Celestial Conduit, Command Animals, Ritual of Radiant Summoning, & Redemption.

Explanation: With the passive healing and the ability to resurrect allies - I should be able to provide adequate support for my team. I should also be tough enough to stay on my feet throughout the fight.

Werewolf Mode: (Role: Tank)
Shred, Devour Essence, Pounce, Howl, & Massacre

Explanation: In werewolf mode I should make a decent off tank. I wouldn't be grabbing as much aggro as a properly speced tank. But between the healing and the crits I should be able to keep a bosses attention. DE is just an amazing tanking power and I should have the bleeds to make it even better.

In Hybrid mode I should provide decent healing. Lots of CON would mean staying on my feet to provide support. I couldn't heal or rez if I die.

In Tank mode - well it's a werewolf. I should have plenty of crits and lots of survivability. Also, the pets would stay out and active doing their thing, while I go full on beast.

If anyone can give me their opinion on this build and let me know if I need any improvements that would be fantastic. I had this idea for awhile but I didn't know how to go about doing it. Thanks in advance.

It's a bit weird trying to make a healer and a melee tank in one build. Perhaps what you could do instead is have Riding Hood play like a ranged dps, and the wolf play like a melee dps? Then you could justify more easily swapping between the two, and the build could be held together easier (could use the same gear for both too). I'm not sure what ranged dps set you could want for Riding Hood in that case, but maybe start w/ Sorc. Here's an example build:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Any / Multiple)
    v3.44:36

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Dexterity (Primary)
    Level 10: Intelligence (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Specialist (Dex: 10, Con: 10, Int: 8, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Covert Ops Training (Str: 3, Dex: 3, Con: 3, Int: 3)
    Level 9: Coordinated (Dex: 5, Int: 5)
    Level 12: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 15: Negotiator (Int: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 18: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 21: Healthy Mind (Con: 5, Int: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Eldritch Bolts
Level 1: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
    Level 6: Conjuring
Level 8: Night Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Form of the Tempest
    Level 14: Will-o'-the-Wisp (Guide, Cursed)
Level 17: Frenzy (Rank 2, Fear Sense)
Level 20: Massacre (Rank 2, Bloody Mess)
    Level 23: Resurgence
    Level 26: Skarn's Bane (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Soul Beam (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 32: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35: Antagonize (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Fiery Embrace
    Adv. Points: 34/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Dexterity: Combat Training (3/3)
    Dexterity: Gear Utilization (2/3)
    Dexterity: Deadly Aim (3/3)
    Dexterity: Expose Weakness (2/2)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (2/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

The Wisp helps tie both sets together, as it keeps Conjuring rolling in the background. In addition to the Wisp, the melee form uses Frenzy for AoE and Shred + Massacre for single-targets, while the ranged form uses Skarn's for AoE and Soul Beam for single-targets. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and Int.

    -

Ofc there are other approaches to take, somewhat depending on the roles you'd like. You could go w/ the original path of having a Tank and Hybrid/Support, but either role is prob going to be somewhat anemic and could have issues performing optimally:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Any / Multiple)
    v3.44:36

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Constitution (Primary)
    Level 10: Presence (Secondary)
    Level 15: Intelligence (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Witch (Con: 10, Int: 8, Pre: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Lasting Impression (Pre: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 9: Negotiator (Int: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 12: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 15: Diplomatic (Int: 5, Pre: 5)
Level 18: Shrug It Off (Con: 5, Pre: 5)
Level 21: Healthy Mind (Con: 5, Int: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Infernal Bolts
Level 1: Devour Essence (Rank 2, Rank 3, Challenge!)
    Level 6: Compassion
    Level 8: Invulnerability (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Will-o'-the-Wisp (Guide)
    Level 14: Conjuring
Level 17: Frenzy (Rank 2, Fear Sense, Challenge!)
    Level 20: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 23: Celestial Conduit (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 26: Iniquity (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Conviction (Rank 2, Reverence)
    Level 32: Redemption (Salvation)
    Level 35: Antagonize (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Fiery Embrace
    Adv. Points: 34/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Constitution: Unyielding (1/2)
    Constitution: Fuel My Fire (3/3)
    Constitution: Resilient (2/2)
    Constitution: Adrenaline Rush (2/2)
    Constitution: Armored (2/2)
    Sentinel: Caregiver (3/3)
    Sentinel: Sentinel Aura (3/3)
    Sentinel: Moment of Need (3/3)
    Sentinel: Genesis (1/2)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Elusive (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Constitution Mastery (1/1)

I wouldn't recommend this one as much, but it can still work out. The Wisp is used in both setups again, the Tank uses DE for single-targets and Frenzy for AoE, while the Hybrid-healer has Conduit for dps and healing, and Iniquity for focused healing. Regen could still work as the passive here, but Invuln is pretty nice for the overall reliable defensive boost as well. The Tank gears mostly for Con (and some Pres), while the Healer uses more Pres, and either can use some Int for cost discount and for Conjuring.

I actually like this build. But instead of Sorcery for ranged can I use the dual pistols from Ammunition?

I was thinking maybe Red Riding Hood could carry a pair of pistols instead of using magic to attack her enemies and then when she transforms into a werewolf she could go into melee that way I can still keep with the whole ranged DPS/melee DPS concept.

Also I really need to fit Command Animals because the concept of her backstory is that she can talk to and control wolves. So I need the wolves in there. What do you think?

Kinda like B.B. Hood from Darkstalkers, huh? (though ofc she didn't turn into a werewolf) That works too, if you want to take that route for the theme. It's not ideal for Muni, but you could replace Skarn's w/ Bullet Hail (or Lead Tempest) and Soul Beam w/ TGM (and then drop the Cursed adv on the Wisp). You could also replace the Wisp w/ Muni's Frag Grenade w/ both special advs, and trade Int + Conjuring for Rec + Relentless (since Bestial will also bleed/wound stuff). I may still use the Wisp setup, just cause it + Conjuring and Int makes for a solid/easy energy combo, but there's other options out there ofc.
