Primal biased Sorcery concept

Hi Again.

In the beginning this was a get anything linked to Primal and try it out, it has Aura of Primal Majesty but the Silver AT guide I based off has Intelligence primary I think. I kind of like the powers but don't think perhaps I am geared right also going by past builds that have been on the forums I probably could be more team friendly somehow. I also had pets but have since removed them as they kind of didn't really work out and have a panther SK instead. Since dropping pets I cheated on primal with Sigils of Radiant Sanctuary and Thundering Return as weather and storm related. I'm looking to fix her this week and hopefully have something of value not just to myself.

Thanks in advance.

Also I am thinking that Aura of Primal Majesty is better with Compassion than it is with Spellcaster also?

Probably the main question is if you are trying to be a straight Support build, or some kind of hybrid Support/DPS. Maybe something like the following if the latter? Even though Int is PSS you would stack all Pres otherwise to give your allies the biggest boost possible. You could experiment also with MSA as the EU, but energy shouldn't be much of an issue with AoPM if you are in Support role.

If you are fighting at some range you may find the sigils not very useful. You might think of an ally rez power, or something like Mental Storm to more often proc Sentinel Mastery (that's what Rune of Dismay will do here). Left a couple points for your travel power.

Maybe get Psionic Accelerator as a device. Very useful for builds like this.

Yea, I'm also not sure if this is meant to be a proper Support, but if it is then I'd also prob advise getting an ally res. I'd prob take Jaaz's build, swap the sigils for an ally res, and maybe also put Iniquity somewhere for a good single-target ally heal (prob instead of CoPD). Although Int PSS is fine here, Pres PSS is also pretty good w/ AoPM since the general stat boosts also help w/ things like Moment of Glory, Force of Will, Dominion, and/or Grandeur (Selfless Ally is also good w/ Iniquity, if taking that).
Also I am thinking that Aura of Primal Majesty is better with Compassion than it is with Spellcaster also?
Compassion and Spellcaster do different things, so it'll somewhat depend on what your goals are for the build. If the main goal is to support, then Compassion would generally be better, assuming you aren't having many issues procing it. Spellcaster is more suited to ranged dps builds that use Curses/Enchantments and focus on Int (instead of Pres_Rec for Compassion).

Okay thanks for the help guys, based on a forgotten fact to me that I have a character with AoPM tied to compassion, I decided to stick with being hybrid dps/support. So here are some changes "so far" with a tweak at a time and test in battle station, she has 6 respecs left. I'm looking for survivability in an Oh bleep moment and less dependency on my SK. So some things are incorporated and a couple of things are based on what's said and a try out for now but at least I am getting closer.

I do the Crashing Incantation on a hard mob for 5 people say Dogs after buffing resists and bubbling.

Then I have to Hex, potentially heal up but still lack a second aoe. Do I swap Soul beam for star barrage?..or is there something better than protection field?

Take Dex over Ego as SSS. Reason is there is a diminishing return cap on Ego's damage boost after 70, and you'll get that just from AoPM, so no need to take it. There is DR on the crit chance of Dex, but it's still a better deal. I might go for this:

If you want to deep PF (instead of Conviction) you could set up a key bind to target your self with Arcane Vitality for some extra self-healing. Crashing Incantation is nice, but it is on a long CD, so possibly Star Barrage would be more useful (can also proc Spellcaster). Sentinel Master can be nice in groups, and also heals you. IMO, Advanced Casting is mostly relevant at cosmic Ape. I find that in most other places, if I get knocked out of a circle, one of the mobs goes and stands in it, so I have to recast it any way. Left a point or two for TPs.

Remember that if you really want to be helpful to allies you should pour on the Pre. Hybrid AoPM makes people sad.

Thanks very much for your help. I am going to respec into your build Jaaz and run it for a few weeks. I have a feeling it is what I am looking for but if anyone can add survivability (because you can never have too much) through devices/gear even I am all ears. I will look out for the psionic accelerator.

Yeah, an issue here is a lack of a decent stat focus. You want Pres for a good ally aura (and stronger heals), but Spellcaster (and Conjuring) scales w/ Int instead. Hybrid auras are also pretty weak and can disrupt stronger Support auras. I may just make this more of a conventional Sorc dps build, but maybe keeping some support-related stuff like an ally res and some background heals (like Sent Mastery's), if you want. I also generally wouldn't rank up a self-res, nor drop Soul Beam for Sorc builds (since it's your best single-target attack). Here's an example Sorc dps build w/ a bit of support built into it:

Some things could be tweaked w/ it, depending on what more you want to focus on. I gave you Ego Form and Guardian spec for a mix of dps w/ a small boost to defenses, for example. The build uses Hex to debuff, Star Barrage for AoE, and Soul Beam for single-targets. You can spot-heal and res allies as well, if needed. Gears mostly for Int, w/ some Con.

You could also consider a Pres PSS option here, but still focusing on Int and taking adv of Moment of Glory and Force of Will scaling up w/ Int being a 2ndary SS:

Thanks guys, I did a bit of freespecing in the training room, battle stationing Loa, Werewolves and Vamps and have moved slightly further away from being so solidly about Primal as I was in the beginning as your suggestions were conclusively making the character better. It literally is an amalgamation of both your suggestions, lots of take from one and give to the other see how it blends. Two minds are better than one.

Outcome: This character now "casually soloes" everything 5 man team hard level, just stands there, perhaps no blocking, no healing self, redundant sidekick, redundant team really but still provide support. Do I need to ask for more? That's just plain greedy. I've seen melee have to block more than me.

I do have to make another character, new ideas I didn't expect to find do happen from all the playing around from your suggestions. I have to make a more harder hitting, less supportive, maybe Enchanter version of this.

With my builds using hybrid I can have 2 hybrid versions. One when no one else has my passive and one when someone else does my passive better. On one hybrid build passive can be empty if that will help to avoid disrupting?

Yea, if you wanted to keep playing as a Hybrid, you could just go for a dual-passive build where you use the slotted aura passive for most easier or small-group content, but still have a normal dps passive that you can swap to when there's stronger Support auras around. In those cases, you'd also prob want to switch to the Ranged dps role and play more like normal a dps unit (but w/ some backup support abilities- like if a healer dies then you can res them, etc). The only major downside to a dual passive build is that you need to free up an extra power slot (and 4 adv points) to fit in a 2nd passive, and you need to configure your character to make swapping (between passives and/or roles) easy, which can be done in the 'Builds' tab on your character sheet in-game.
