Devils Inside

So I'm trying to do the Devils Inside mission in Vibora Bay, but I don't get it. I've slotted the Talisman of banishment, but it doesn't have any effect. So I figured I'd kill the possessed and then use it (like the possessed Yeti in Canada). Still no good. What am I doing wrong?

    If...and that's a big If, I'm thinking of the same mission. Try and click the device to turn it on.

    You have to use it on them instead of defeating them rather than after defeating them.
