Small tweaks to allow Celestial DPS to....happen

Since I know there are other priorities and a Celestial revamp may be put off, I am hoping these suggestions may be “quickies” to add into the game to allow someone who wants to stay within the Celestial power set to have some sort of offensive presence.

New 2pt Advantage to either Rebuke or Vengeance: Celestial’s damage type being Dimensional allows it to work with the Devoid debuff. The new advantage can apply Devoid, which will be an in-framework method, instead of using Shadow Blast.

New 1point Advantage to Celestial Conduit where damage from Celestial Conduit will increase if the target is affected by the Illuminated Curse.

New 3 point advantage to Illumination (name “Too Bright!”) where Mend’s chances are significantly higher (Celestial Conduit’s arc to yo other targets).

New 2 point advantage to Illumination or Vengeance (“The Light hurts!”) which applies the Fear on the target.

These suggestions use what is currently in-game to not get in the way of other dev’s priorities and allow Celestial to have some sort of offensive presence. These suggestions will be able to be utilized with other in game options that currently available, such as Shadow Manifestation.

Celestial just needs a way to apply the Dimensional debuff called Devoid. You have to go out of set to get the debuff.

However, once you get it, the set can do decent damage.

On a medium geared build, I can get 1.5k/sec crits from Celestial Conduit and almost 11k crits from Rebuke. If there were some tier 3 single target power, along with some of your suggestions, then Celestial DPS is a go.

Also, there is a celestial dps boost core, Valerian Scarlet core, iirc.

Edit: that should have read "1.5k per tick or 3k/sec from crits from Celestial Conduit"

  • Valerian Scarlet's Radiance...which honestly makes no damn sense, because she is most certainly NOT a being of light in the slightest

This whole power set needs a revamp and probably will get one around the time that externals starts at the theaters.
