I guess if your character can shoot photon torpedoes from his head, then ... sure? I dunno, man- I just make the builds, lol.
Anyways, the issue there is that Mind Break won't add much to a Gadgeteering build in terms of practicality, esp as a low-dps blast. Maybe instead include MLeech or SoD, as they are cds that have some extra utility, and (when ranked) still have a pretty nice visual to them.

The open power slots can be for w/e ya want.
Uses taps of Exp Blaster as its main single-target attack (half-charge it instead if enemies are too close to you), and charges of Sonic Boom Gen as its main AoE. MLeech, Conviction, and/or taps of TStrike can help proc MSA and also add some background healing. Gears mostly for Int, w/ some Con and Dex (or End).
Protection Field won't be too strong as a non-Support, but you can still shield yourself or allies with it, and it fits the theme.
The other general option is to use R3 Star Barrage as your main AoE due to its visual projectiles, though having an AoE come from a blaster pistol is imo more fitting here (as Star Barrage is still a magical/Sorc attack).
