Martial arts + guns(maybe even some sword)

Hello, as the title says, i need help to create a character that mixes martial arts and pistols, is this any good? i dont want my character to be hybrid ofc and i want be strong in cosmic fights (i hate being carried)
I was planning to use another build flowcyto did to me as base:
https://aesica.net/co/herocreator.htm?v=32&n=&d=11230ab9KPGA0000007200B103BC07B800BI00K503BM05BK0CEJ08ON01CD01CB03EA042Q002jN72MGB42kg40000000000&e=
But im completely clueless if i need to change the super stats or talents...
Well, any help will be apreciated, thanks in advance.

If you really wanted to mix them for the high-end, then I'd keep DB for single-target dps and use Lead Tempest for wide AoE. One example:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
    v3.41:33

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Dexterity (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Master (Str: 8, Dex: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Covert Ops Training (Str: 3, Dex: 3, Con: 3, Int: 3)
Level 9: Martial Focus (Str: 5, Dex: 5)
    Level 12: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 18: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 21: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Gunslinger
Level 1: Blade Tempest (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 6: Night Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3, Silent Running)
Level 8: Form of the Tempest
    Level 11: Steadfast
    Level 14: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 17: Strike Down
Level 20: Dragon's Wrath (Tiger's Courage, Dragon Rush)
Level 23: Lead Tempest (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 26: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 29: Energy Shield (Rank 2)
Level 32: Holdout Shot (Stim Pack, Open Wound)
    Level 35: Smoke Bomb
Level 38: Whirling Dragon Strike (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Adv. Points: 34/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Overpower (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
Brawler: The Glory of Battle (1/3)
    Brawler: Penetrating Strikes (2/2)
    Brawler: Ruthless (2/2)
    Brawler: Finishing Blow (2/3)
    Brawler: Flanking (3/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

I assume that you have the Ult unlocked. If not, then you can pick another one, or use a diff power in that slot (could also replace the threat wipe w/ something else, if you wanted).

Blade Tempest can be used as a basic melee cleave and to put up Shredded, while charged DW is the main single-target attack. LT can provide a large pbAoE, and Holdout Shot can give you an extra self-heal and put up some bleeds. Gears mostly for Dex (and some Con, if you want more maxHP for stuff outside of Cosmics).
<CO stuff> .: Petco :. // A basic FF building guide (see 1st reply) // PSA on Power Activation Delay // Ayonachan's Gift Horse (misc stat data)
    - Be safe and have fun, champs - for science!

    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Dexterity (Secondary)

    Level 6: Martial Training (Str: 3, Dex: 3, Ego: 3, Rec: 3)
    Level 9: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 12: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 15: Martial Focus (Str: 5, Dex: 5)
    Level 18: Agile (Dex: 8)
    Level 21: Mighty (Str: 8)

    Powers
    Level 1: Gunslinger
Level 1: Burst Shot (Taking Names)
    Level 6: Killer Instinct
Level 8: Bullet Ballet (Rank 2, Not Without Incident)
Level 11: Form of the Tempest
Level 14: Way of the Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 17: Howl (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Burning Chi Fist (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Whirling Dragon Strike (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 26: Retaliation (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Lead Tempest (Rank 2)
    Level 32:
    Level 35:
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 28/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6: Athletics
    Level 35: Swinging

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (3/3)
    Strength: Aggression (2/2)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Overpower (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
Brawler: The Glory of Battle (1/3)
    Brawler: Penetrating Strikes (2/2)
    Brawler: Ruthless (2/2)
    Brawler: Setup (2/2)
    Brawler: Flanking (3/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

    Devices

Some empty spots for your choice of healing powers and defenses. BCR with Elusive monk is an obvious fit, but you do take a small damage hit. Conviction can work too.

You need to keep furious up. So Howl and then you can burst shot every now and then to apply armor piercing and refresh furious. If you don't like the animation of howl, you could take lock and load... but the cooldown is kinda long, if furious does end up dropping off.

You might want to level lead tempest up to r3... but I can also see arguments for the extra dodge (if you took BCR). Bullet hail can aslo work ok here.

Might want a lunge too, just to get in there. Pounce can give you a stack of furious, but it's animation is kinda..well..pouncy.

For that build, you hit howl for the furious, then you Burst shot for Armor Piercing. Then you spam bullet ballet until setup procs (you will get an icon). After that you charge up a Burning Chi fist. You could replace it with dragons wrath or any other big hit. I chose burning chi first because it does crushing damage, so it benefits from armor piercing.

After that keep you furious up with a burst shot every now and then, and keep spamming bullet ballet and Burning chi fists with setup procs.

edit: can't stop using "bullet beatdown" XD
