Ice tank still playable?

recently didn't see any Ice tank in game, I wonder if Ice tank still playable? (still have a cool customs freeze theme in my custom slot, LOL)

I currently play PA tank now, I have 15K HP 29% dodge and 31% critical, Con as primary superstate Dex and End as sec can ice tank use the same gear and superstate as PA tank? If not please let me know what is the best superstates and gears for Ice tank. I can get some new gears as well too.

When I play PA tank I use power conversion skill helps me gain energy and it's perfect skill. I can gain energy smoothly whole time. I wonder if Ice tank can use this skill as well too? Because some of Ice powerful Aoe skill needs a lot energy to maintain. Or the Ice tank can have other skill to help gain the energy?

Please help me with Ice tank build.

Thanks,

By ice tank do you mean glacier AT (in which case no, it doesn't have access to power conversion) or freeform (sure, whatever, though not fond of power conversion myself).

This skill is under power laser sword.

I know, but freeform is perfectly able to mix power sets.

Put Conviction and Ice Sheath as last powers so you could switch them out for something different without burning your wallet. Remove ranks from Ice Sheath and add them to Invulnerability. Consider looking into Shatter as your non-targeting, aoe power that can add a secondary threat, which will stack with a primary threat from your other powers.

Ice generally shouldn't require enough extra energy management to warrant taking something like Power Conversion. Regardless, you didn't rank Conviction or Invuln in your build, and I would move points away from the AO and Power Conversion (if keeping it) to get them ranked up.

I will try shatter and rank up Invulnerability later today and see how it works, I thought avalanche has higher damage and can hit 8 targets within power conversion buff I can maintain it for long time.

OK, will try rank up Invulnerability for sure. For using power conversion, this idea comes from the last PA build that you gave to me, and I love this skill so much. By using this skill My PA tank can toggle 3 slot and maintain them until this skill finish recharge (cost discount and CD reduce). And I tested it last night, you know this skill is more like a drug LOL, once you get used to this smooth energy recovery, you can never quit it!! LOL.

Also, I am not sure what you mean by "I would move points away from the AO and Power Conversion (if keeping it) to get them ranked up.". What is AO? and did you mean remove the power conversion to change other skill instead?

AO = Active Offense, or Ice Sheath in this case. And I meant to move R3 in Ice Sheath and Power Conversion to R3 in Invuln and Conviction instead.

Power Conversion is nice for energy gains, though it's 5% dmg/heal penalty isn't ideal if you can get by on energy w/o it. I'd suggest it for builds that spam very expensive attacks, but otherwise good gearing w/ a suitable form/toggle and energy unlock should be enough to not need something like it.

Yeah, I notice that Power conversion will lower 5% damage , that is why when I play PA Tank I made a lvl 8 PA utility mod (The one comes from Zstore the bundle that gives me 25 keys and 25 utility mode) that gives me 9% PA power damage. LOL.

If I remove the power conversion, what should I take? If I post my gears and my modes can you make me a build that base on that?

I'm not sure what you mean, since you already have a workable Ice build that you've been going for here. Anyways, you can still keep R1 Power Conversion if you think you need it for Avalanche spam, but otherwise it's up to you what to replace it with. Maybe get Nanobot Swarm for the cd reduction, or Bionic Shielding if you're still focused on soloing and want some decent extra self-healing.

Its mostly to add a secondary threat, which stack on your primary threat, and to grab the Baby Dino in the Teleiosaurus' fight if you're offtanking the baby dino. You don't need to target or aim, just use shatter and it will work regardless. Avalanche is pretty great on killing trash mobs.

After use shatter will remove all chill debuff from target, I guess I just keep the power conversion and spam Avalanche for Aoe better.

My current build enough for me to solo Qzone missions and other missions. In fact, I think Ice tank's dps is more than PA or Supernatural tank.

I remove R3 from power conversion into Conviction and it is a great skill within short CD, right now I have 2 self healing skill and smooth energy recovery.

Also, I wonder if Ice can be tank what about other element could be tank too? If yes then that will be a lot fun for a tank.

Shatter's wide radius is indeed very good for tagging scattered groups w/ Challenge and for stacking Challenge, though I guess if you're still focusing on soloing then that sort of thing matters less.

Hmm, well 3-slot PA is still the highest ranged dps in the game atm, but if you have energy issues w/ PA then I could foresee something as strong as Avalanche faring better for AoE at least (PA's AoE can be very strong, but is more focused and harder to manage in general). Infernal's Epidemic is great dmg for how wide it is as a pbAoE (that also doesn't root you), but its base dps isn't as high as Avalanche's tighter AoE.
Also, I wonder if Ice can be tank what about other element could be tank too? If yes then that will be a lot fun for a tank.
Thanks to universal things like the Tank role, defensive specs, Con SS, defensive slotted passives, Challenge advs, etc... any powerset in CO can be made into a tank build, though some fare a bit better at it than others.

OK, Maybe it just me, as a tank, when I play PA tank and I using dummy to see my damage I by looking the numbers I feels like the Ice tank is higher than PA and supernatural. I don't know how to pull out the DPS in game to see how much I done in 2 - 3 mins so I can't have the numbers too proof. I have 15K HP and 31% critical chance and 29% dodge chance.
However, I try the battle simulation, and put hard 5 group and using timer to see which is faster. Ice tank cleaned up the room was faster than all other 2 but take more damages I have to use self healing skill after spam some skills, and when I using Ice tank solo Qzone missions is faster than before, like 20 mins all missions were cleaned.

For PA tank after using power conversion I no longer have energy issue, I have lvl 8 mode that increase 9% PA skills damage so already remove the - 5% damage penalty plus my cost discount mode after 18 sec I still have enough energy keep the toggle and reactive the power conversion again shot another rounds. However, I think you are correct about the base damage avalanche is higher than other skills and easy to use that why it makes me doing mission more efficient so that I feel Ice tank has higher DPS. Or maybe just because I am a build of tank and using tank role as main role, that lowers other types tank damage.

I would like to try an electric tank see if I can have it for both dps and surviving. I just willing to try more build and find the one best for me right now, lol sounds like dumb but I can have fun with it.

What is it that you are considering a 'tank'? Because what you're describing testing doesn't have much to do with the traditional tank role (which does not have a lot to do with dps).

    1. I got a full build healer teammate (I told him get some dps skills, but he just want to be a full healer not doing any damage.) so whenever I don't need to worry about surviving, I am looking for dps, so that we can clean up those daily missions faster and do other missions. (Endless.... but never hunt any giant monster because both of us can't find any group...)

2.This Gox dxxn (bad words) healer is a dealer works at casino.... so when he is on night shift, I have to solo all missions, so I must be tanky to surviving in Qzone and solo all mission by myself.

    3. I love tank role. No Reason, just like my healer friend refused to get any dmg skills ( Maybe he just watch too many times Hacksaw Ridge).

3.Base on 3 point above, I am sorry about being greedy, but the true is I am looking for a tank build that can be tanky and good surviving also do the highest damage that I can. So that, doesn't matter I solo or team up, I can do mission more efficient.

Well, the Hybrid role will get you higher base dps (and higher bonus healing for self-heals), though you won't have as high effective health and your threat generation will be lower than when in the Tank role (should be pretty easy to hold aggro against your healer, though).

There is the option of taking a dual-passive build, where you swap between roles and use an offensive slotted passive, but you'd need an extra power slot and 4 extra adv points for that, and you'd have to set up swapping between them in-game. Even then, your healer may have issues keeping you alive if you're in dps mode, so it could be a risky approach and maybe not one I'd recommend here.

Well, even if you've 'negated' the 5% dmg penalty, it would still be higher w/o that penalty in any case (again, barirng energy concerns if Power Conversion fixes them). Also, the Tank role doesn't lower specific types of dmg- it just doesn't have as high general dmg bonuses available to it as the Hybrid or DPS roles.

Electricity is a very strong set too, and you could go that route if you really wanted to. Plenty of other powersets can get good defenses while attacking, like w/ Muni, DB, SB, or TK Blades that have a dmg shield available on some AoE attacks. Many others sets can have decent CC on a main AoE attack. You have tons of options.. but Ice isn't a bad one either, so if you're happy w/ it then you may want to just keep w/ it.

Yep, just try around about the other new builds (Spend 10K zen for token already...……….) Still feels like ice tank is most efficient build, AOE and critical hit when chill apply to target can done 4.5K - 5K damage. Somehow my Zenstore got lock done whenever I purchase anything will bound to my account, (stop me for selling keys). I was wanted to lvl up all my modes to lvl 9 this week, I guess I need send a ticket to customer service to unlock it.

Why Zen? IIRC you can just spend Globals/Gold and that's fairly easy to farm...

IIRC is 'if I recall correctly', which is not a game acronym. It's about 550g to full retcon a level 40.
