Anyone got an "eyebeam" build idea?

bughousebughouse Posts: 105 Arc User
I would like to build an homage to Oculon (despite Cyclops being similar *sigh*). However, I have no idea which powers to use for an eyeball energy emitter. Force looks like the grand default (using the head emission point ofc), but I need help and/or ideas on how to implement.
I'd like to avoid Eye Beams due to the PA slot lockout thing; not totally against it though.

there's an eye beam toggle in PA you could use that, concussor beam, and chest beam.

This is what I'd do based on what I've read of Oculon:

Best bet would be a Lightning Arc build. LA has the option for head emanation and is really strong when set up properly. Chain Lightning and Gigabolt also have head-emanation options, so if you don't mind it looking a bit electrical, that's totally a valid option for shooting beams from your eyes.

The Plasma Bolt EB in Power Armor also is an ok option for shooting eye beams, and unlike the other beam options of PA doesn't really require any devotion to adhering to PA's attack structure at all.

Not a bad idea (though I don't see an emanation option for Chain Lit). A quick template for that:

(not a leveling build, ofc). Charges Gigabolt can put up NI for LArc and can also AoE, while LArc is the main single-target attack. Tried not to include attacks that don't have head emanation in there, but you can fill up the build with w/e else ya want.

Could also take any energy blast power and see if it has Head emanation (like Force Blast). You have a decent amount of single-target options there. AoE is a bit trickier, though.. TK Wave can also emanate from the Head, and that can be a nice power for corralling enemies w/ its adv. Maybe combo that w/ Gigabolt's cylinder:

For single-targets, uses Mental Leech to debuff and roll MSA (took it cause of the head emanation, but it has other uses here), while alternating between Force Blast and Gigabolt. You won't always be able to charge Gigabolt due to the debuff it leaves on you, but you can still utilize taps of it until you are able to charge it again. Gigabolt can also be the main AoE here, while using TK Wave to clump up enemies in front of you (and you can still throw Mental Leech in there too). I included Blinding Light in there cause I read that he likes to blind enemies, but the power can be used as a threat wipe. Unstoppable will also help you manage energy by giving you some extra when you try to knock w/ a power. Gears mostly for Int, w/ some Con and Rec.

Thanks all! The ideas here are pretty cool and have given some additonal ideas on how to think of "eyebeams". I'll have to give these a shot.

I'd like to thank y'all too. Staredown has been languishing for over a year because I ran out of ideas for powers that can come out of his eyes.

So Just for fun, I switched out Blinding Light with Rimefire Burst (since Blinding Light comes from your hands, and Rimefire burst is an instant click attack that can come from the head, and has some crowd control to it). I've only done on the Test server, and haven't tried it in full combat yet.

If you're referring to my build, then yea that can be a fine sub to make. Hope you like the build.
