Not having much experience with the different Archetypes I'm not really sure which ones I would actually buy and I'd rather not have 'buyers remorse' and accidentally buy one that I'm never going to use. They are however cheaper (by a lot) than freeform character slots and I am having fun with the soldier arch. My question then is thus: are there any Arch's that are really good in solo play that are not Tanks (I found I really such at that role..like..bad) or sould I just go with the Freeform pack of 3 slots?

The archetypes are practically the training course for Champions, allowing you to try the powersets and work up to freeform. While you can enjoy some team oriented Archetypes, the solo-comfortable Archetypes (As far as up to the Qliphothic Warzone and what I know) would be:
The Gunslinger, The Midnight, The Void, The Specialist, The Disciple, The Dragon Spirit, The Unleashed, The Blade, The Fist, The Inferno, The Psychokinetic, and The Blazing.
Personally, I'd get the freeform pack, we all can definitely help you get exactly what you want, your way, and even make it solo capable for sure. Archetypes miss out on two extra powers anyhow in comparison to freeform, and that can make a great difference!

Long long time ago I use to play a TK Blades character who was highly soloable, had tank and decent self healing. I think he used regen? Regardless he was my favorite dps character but the original guide I used to make him has been lost to time and when the game converted him I lost any way of trying to 'rebuild' it from its original spec. So what is a solo capable TK blade these days? Do they still use regen?

Block timing explained
Regeneration is more used for Offtanking and leveling Pre-Endgame content nowadays, but TK Blades has gotten a really fancy rework. TK can actually heal you and provide some defensive benefits as you attack! Created a draft for you based on how you may have played back then, No regen necesssary!
In this build,
TK Blades can now heal you from crits and debuff your enemies with Ego weaponry, Shield you and provide a heal overtime with Ego Blade Frenzy, Breach refreshing your debuff on enemies, and Annihilation to rupture with very high damage! it will be dodge based, reducing damage to even bare minimum, and benefitting with each dodge!
I say it's a draft, because It can definitely be changed to how you'd like! You're quite resistant and highly regenerative, yet still packin' the punch.

Commonly yes, most other powers have a ramp-up sequence they have to go through before their full effect, so Acrobatics/athletics is taken for ease of use. But as Kallethen said here, It's completely up to you on which ones you pick!
And do let me know when you reach 40 for your TK character, you'll be geared up right then, free of charge thanks to the community.
No question is a stupid one, You're totally fine!
1. That is Correct, Ego blades scale off of Ego, but this is not as important. The base of a DPS, where they mostly get their damage from, is having a correct Offensive passive, and a fitting Toggle form that scales with the appropriate Super stat, and a fitting Energy Unlock. This also thrives from choosing the Super stats that best fit what you'd like to do. In this case:
- Dexterity is a Primary Super Stat because it offers DPS and Tank capable specs
- Constitution as a secondary because you aim to survive while benefiting Dexterity Primary's secondary super stat specs.
- Recovery as the 2nd secondary Super Stat because having an energy based super stat is very important to keep dishing damage.
- Night Warrior is an Offensive Slotted Passive, scaling with all Super Stats,it increases all damage, reduces Power charge speed times, and grants dodge and Avoidance, with a bonus of Defense Penetration on your attacks!
- Mental Discipline is a Toggle form, scaling from Dexterity, it increases your melee damage greatly as you stack it from applying Mental States (Ego Leech and Stress are your Mental states).
- Telekinetic Reverberation, is your Energy Unlock, Scaling with Recovery, granting energy every time you gain a stack of Ego Leech.
2. Kinetic Darts is fine, the energy builder can be whatever you like! Though above level 23, be expected not to use it as much as you'd like. Also, Energy builders are not exactly worth leveling at this time, I feel. (Unless you're using Wrist Bolter as a PA). Your toggle form, as it stacks with damage, can also regenerate energy and scaling with it's desired Super stat which is Dexterity. Your Energy Unlock which is Telekinetic Reverberation regenerates your energy scaling with it's desired super stat Recovery (Endurance to a lesser degree).
If it helps, if you have previously subscribed to the game, you obtain a free Premium pack from the Bonus tab of the Z store. The Premium pack also enables you to join the Public Test Server, giving you freedom to respec your freeform and try out builds and upcoming content!
Lastly, The Dual wielding is from an advantage called "ID Mastery". This can be obtained as an advantage on the slotted passives "Ego Form" and "ID Weaponry", and the toggle form "Mental Discipline". And the Stealth part is coming from Night warrior, Sneak and Shadow Strike can be taken out of your Toolbar if you like. You do not necessarily have to sneak, but it can be useful in situations. Night warrior is just there as the Slotted Passive.
I just one shot Poe. That bastard has murdered tons of my newbie heroes. Mind sword through the back and done. No, that skill is staying right there!
Glad to see the game is still running with an active and helpful community!
I happened to love how that AT's kit worked for me personally (some people hate it I don't understand why)
Long story short when I finally did save up enough for an LTS I made a freeform that used the AT's Powerset as the basis with a couple extra powers thrown in and bad ones eliminated.
I suggest you do the same buy the freeform slot, but design it after your favorite AT as a first timer.
